The failure to provide an effective flu vaccine last year may have contributed to the largest rise in deaths in England and Wales for 12 years, the government’s public health agency has admitted.
An additional 28,189 people died in 2015 compared with 2014, the largest percentage increase since 1968,
That's for the year -------- Over 46,000 in this country have died in the last 6 months with Covid .
2018 - 50,000 - FLU Deaths with excess included - And the above with Covid does not include Excess Deaths ,

I get some people questioning how people are dying now, because of flu,as it's still technically summer, but during lockdown, reports were coming out,of cases of flu dropping by as much as 90% heart attacks the same,it's been said many times on here, more people will die BECAUSE of covid 19 than OF itmy take is only a relatively small number of people have actually died OF it,the rest of the poor souls, were very poorly to start with, and covid proved the tipping point, for their weakened immune systems, especially those with breathing related conditions, terminally ill patients with cancer, even those who had chemo/radiation treatment, thus were at a far greater risk due to low immune response.we have to live with this virus as far as I am concerned, like most illnesses such as flu.

good question and one that more people should be asking the government..
take all the scaremongering, propaganda and restrictions away and does it really feel like a pandemic to you... ?

Flu kills five times more than Covid
By Chris Smyth
Wednesday August 12 2020, 12.00am BST, The Times
The last week of July was the seventh consecutive week in which more people died of flu or pneumonia than coronavirus
Flu and pneumonia are killing five times as many people as coronavirus at present, with Covid deaths at their lowest since the end of March, figures show.
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said that overall deaths were below average for the time of year for the seventh consecutive week, while deaths from Covid-19 were at a 19-week low.
