Breaking: Facial recognition at football Ruled unlawful

Its ruled unlawful to use facial recognition at the football so we should not be subjected to it but CCTV or camera use by police is not affected..this case was based solely on the use of facial recognition at the Cardiff v Swansea match ...which we argued was excessive and out of proportion and not fit for purpose based on the current technology available in this sort of surveillance....

Despite much opposition from supporters of both Cardiff & Swansea Facial Recognition Technology was used at their fixtures last season.

Thankfully the Court of Appeal do not agree that “if you have nothing to hide” it’s use is not a threat to our right nor comparative to CCTV

Thanks corky videoing & photographing city fans and away fans happen at every game on sloper rd entrance... as been for as long as ground been opened! Not confident not using facial recognition to see if banned fans are in crowd otherwise no point in videoing innocent people just because they are at football game.

Without being rude, but ? Are we not allowed a little humour? Plus I do not believe the figures given!! I'm not one for having death numbers thrown at me from all angles,so don't understand your link? As you say the numbers are of people who had died WITH Covid, not of it,and this list includes untested people, who were suspected of having covid, with no test taking place, and people who were very ill,who were at end of life stage, died with covid, not of it.as another post shows,6 x more people are now dying of flu, than covid, and for a good number of weeks too,for me there are three groups, people who died of covid 19,people who died with covid 19,and last but not least, people who have died because of covid.and the majority of deaths imo, fall into the last two categories.not saying I'm 100% correct, but that is my view.and in no way was I intending to offend relatives of deceased people,as there are obviously some who have died in every category,so if I have offended,it isn't intended, and I apologise in advance if I have  :old: :bluebird:

Wasnt this the case of the man walking down Queen st doing some xmas shopping.

Police said they have 'taken note of the ruling' and wont be appealing.

Basically it means they cant use it in a live catch all environment. They will still use cctv on streets and at games etc. Then if something happens they will then use the facial recognition software to try and identify people in the name of forensics.

Not such a bad idea - if a terrorist has been doing surveillance of an area and then decides to act - then in retrospect the police can use that in the prosecution evidence, just in case Mr ISIS says it wasnt me - I wasnt there.

Obviously this is way over the top to use it live on shoppers and supporters.

Now most of us are wearing masks due to coronavirus, how will they use forehead recognition?
