Click bait because we still could, but I see both goals as his fault. First goal he was wrong side of the attacker and was the last player able to make a challenge before the Fulham player got into the box.
Second goal the player got passed him so easy again, and I believe it shouldn’t have even been a free kick how the Fulham player ran into Morrison similar to what happened in the first half with Glatzel, but it’s Packs lack of mobility and positioning that caused the free kick to take place.
Other than the goals, of-course he was a target and was exploited every time Fulham attacked us.
Absolutely useless player. Oh but we won against a relegated side last week with him, well done lad.

Pack wasn’t the wrong side he was too tight,NML was shocking all game and the German just isn’t good enough. I think the wrong side was picked but an early goal at their place and its game on.

Don't be silly, we lost because we are not good enough. Sometimes you just have to accept it rather than look for scapegoats.

Although I don’t blame Pack exclusively for the loss. What you say is very much true. He is one of Warnock’s worst signings for us. He is supposed to be this ball winning playmaker but his defending is atrocious at this level and his distribution is so poor that his passes put us under pressure more often than not. Vaulks is twice the player he is.

Logged in to see who this weeks scapegoat is.
I see youve picked Pack. Easy choice as i do blame him for allowing the player passed him for the first goal, an also allowing the player to go past Morrison and Nelson too before tricking Smithies to go the wrong way.
I also noticed him telling the ref to give a free kick to Fulham because the player ran into Morrison and fell over. Much worse than the guy in the first half that sliced through Glatzel.
So glad i support Cardiff City. We have a fanbase full of potential Champions League winning Managers.

To be fair to Pack it was the only thing he did wrong all game
Probably because he didn't do anything else all game but that not the point.
Hes a decent player who is seriously out of form and shouldn't have started this game. Harris should take the blame for that he should have played Vaulks.
Mon Jul 27, 2020 10:06 pm
Also would have done much better had Harris not made such stupid subs. Pack should have been off and Tomlin should never have been wasted out wide.

not difficult to spot who watches the ball but ignores the rest of the game on this thread...

If that’s how you feel, and you actually rate Pack, change my mind. What part of that performance or ANY performance from Pack has warranted his place in midfield over the likes of Will Vaulks? Will you resort to the typical no argument of “he does the behind the scenes work that nobody sees”. I don’t buy that anymore with Pack. Defensively, I see good positioning and quick off the mark direct tackling from Vaulks to take pressure off Cardiff’s back 4 this season. Yet when Pack plays people consistently keep running by him and turning him incredibly easily. But I’m missing something obviously.
And by the way, regarding the goal, I’ve already commented on the fact Nelson and Morrison got done too easily as well but once the Fulham player is in the box it’s always going to be conservative defending. Pack was player marking Onomah OUTSIDE the box and allowed him to easily get through to our last line of defence.
But let’s be fair, this is more than just a few mistakes last night, this is a season of being consistent at being slow, clumsy, and ineffective from Pack

Or it's called fans opinions.

I noticed Bacuna had a difficult game against Bekano, he got passed him for that first goal and all of the players got dragged out of position before the first goal, but it was poor defending from all, and a well taken goal.
Harris said he was going to make changes, I expect quite a lot as it's a quick turnaround and we need to do something different. Maybe Sanderson back in with Bacuna back in midfield for Pack, If not probably Vaulks in for him?

I completely understand why Harris has had to rotate his squad but I think the move that has done most to lose a bit of impetus in midfield has been having to shift Bacuna back to full back.
In recent games Bacuna was outstanding in midfield providing us with pace and legs that we haven't had previously. The trio of Vaulks, Bacuna and Ralls was looking good and if you've going to find room for Tomlin in certain games then, for me, it would be Ralls who drops out just to keep the mobility that the other two offer.
Harris has done little wrong recently. I understand the need to remove Sanderson from the firing line but resting Vaulks (unless he's carrying an injury) seems strange. For the second leg they now have nothing to lose so go with Sanderson, get Vaulks and Bacuna back in midfield and just go for it.

Pack was just part of a team that wasn't allowed to play its own game after the first (abhorrent IMHO) drinks break aand the whole team suffered
Having said that, I was a little surprised to see him selected, as Fulham are not the type of team he is most effective against
Big changes for the next game? I think Neil Harris will do what he can to get us on the front foot early on again
What have we got to lose? Most, including some of our own bottlers (I can't mention EastleighBlue directly in case it offends him) have already written us off!
Keep the faith; nothing is impossible until the rather large Happy Clapper lady starts to sing...!

Fulham are a better team than Cardiff full stop.

Agreed, but it's all on the night. Many a great team have been beaten by lesser oposition.
We get an early goal next game, and who knows?

Sadly it was the whole midfield. Pack and ralls didn’t work when Warnock was here. Both are dire, and when ralls was pushed up top at the end I couldn’t stop laughing. It was a game for Paterson to come on. I don’t say that lightly as I can’t stand him either but there are games when I do think he’d do a job being right place right time.
But it’s all opinions. I only hope in the 2nd leg he goes for it and don’t hold back, much like the 2nd half at Leeds.

Sadly man for man Fulham midfield ruined Cardiff.
Reed had tomlin in his pocket after water break ineffective and pointless him being there.
Pack & Ralls were abysmal in 2nd half im guessing pack is in there to keep the ball moving as hes usually our best passer of the ball, but even that was poor last night.
Ralls im unsure what he actually did accept run around alot.
Wingers were kept in their fullbacks pockets all game.
We missed our opportunities to get a goal Fulham didn't, we r nowhere near good enough to go up. Looking forward to alot getting shipped out and harris making his own mark on the squad with younger hungrier players

Beaten by a better side - that’s all it was. Every one of their players was better than ours. Hector, Onomah and Bryan looked full of confidence and we just didn’t have the quality to compete with them.

We were poor after the first 23 minutes, but we can match them on our day, Leeds are miles better and we beat them comfortably and drew after being three goals down.
Goals define games, if Glatatzel had taken that chance it would have been us with our tails up and playing with confidence, 90 minutes plus to go, keep the faith

I said on another thread we got away with Pack in previous games because we were on the front foot, this just never worked last night. Hopefully someone will fancy him and take him off our hands.
Ralls, Vaulks and Bacuna won their battle in every game they started. I think all three are better suited to a midfield 3 rather than a sitting two (pivot or double pivot). It was almost a strong point, but how do you get Tomlin into the team then ?
I have never been convinced when we play 4231. We look better 433 as I don't think we have 2 natural sitters. We try to force Pack as the Quarterback but he isn't good enough passer and definitely not a Gunnar tackler and organiser. He is just slow so you assume he is a DMC, but in reality is is just a slow CM. That leaves Ralls in a position of control rather than chasing and harrying which he is good at.
We can't blame one player, if anyone its the manager who chose the personal and tactics.

Pack and Flint are apparently good friends, maybe they could share the taxi out of our club.
