Thomas Frank is not a happy man:

Brentford boss Thomas Frank was not happy in the wake of last night's defeat to the Swans.

The Bees boss claimed that VAR should be used for the play-off matches - after Rico Henry was sent off for a challenge on Connor Roberts.

“I think we were by far the best side until the red card, in a good football match between two good football sides, I think Swansea did well as well,” Frank said.

“Until the penalty, we should have been 1-0 up, and then the penalty came which was crucial. Maybe it was a penalty, maybe not, but that was the only time when we didn’t have control, they didn’t even have a chance.”

“When you play a game, or two games, where you’re playing for promotion to the Premier League, and you play for £170million, people need to be really, really sure when they make their decisions.

“I don’t understand why there can’t be VAR in these games. I can understand it in the Championship, but I can’t understand it when there’s so much at stake.

“They need to nail it. From my point of view, it was absolutely not a red card. I spoke to a ref outside of this, he said no red card."

He has a valid point. A very harsh decision and one that would have been overturned by VAR. The luck the Jacks are having at the moment makes me sick. Two consecutive games playing 10 men, Bristol missed penalty, Notts Forest utterly unprofessional against Stoke etc. I fully expect Swansea to be in the final now, probably by having the luck again of winning a penalty shoot out.

Nobody has said there is no such thing as luck, stop lying to create conflict. If your point was strong and you actually believed it, then you wouldn’t have to make things up.

What was said was, after 46 games you finish where you deserve to. Luck is a small part of all games be that good and bad for all sides.

Take the last match for example, we hit the inside of the post, missed a penalty and got denied a clear one... that’s bad luck for many. You may try and find some good luck in the match. That’s football.

However if we get promoted, it will be because we deserve to. Be that by any method, even a shootout. :thumbright:
