COVID-19 Vaccine All but confirmed

Thu Jul 23, 2020 1:44 pm

Over the last few weeks, it seems as though the multiple vaccines that have reached stage three of the testing and has proven to give immunity without any side effects. I’m a little suprised it’s not been covered a lot on here or in the general media. Though I suppose the governments probably don’t want people to relax what they’re doing too much until it’s actually in public hands. Looking like it’s between October-February.

Very good news so far.

I'll let everyone else trial it first and see if any side effects come out

It is going to be a long time before I will be having this vaccine, as you said side effects are not going to show up until many more people have had the vaccine, and also I will want to know that it will work. Only 2 weeks ago they were saying that it will only be 50% effective, and now are they going to say it is 100% effective? I don't think so

Let England test it first, and if and when it works we’ll jump in :)

You read the article wrong mate.

“ The boss of a drugs company that has agreed to deliver up to 100 million doses of a potential COVID-19 vaccine to the UK has told Sky News there is a more than 50% chance of it reaching patients”

We are talking here about a virus that kills, there have been over 45000 deaths in the uk and only two weeks ago the scientists were saying that even if a vaccine is produced it could only be 50% effective. I do not like those odds. :o
You keep saying “2 weeks ago scientists said this and that”.
Mate, since 2 weeks ago the testing has progressed and the vaccine is looking promising.

Here’s the “50%” you keep going on about.

“ The boss of a drugs company that has agreed to deliver up to 100 million doses of a potential COVID-19 vaccine to the UK has told Sky News there is a more than 50% chance of it reaching patients”

The vaccine has a 50% chance of reaching patients by the end of the year. THAT IS ALL the 50% comes from, nothing to do with it’s effectiveness. It’s Proven to be 100% effective on-top of providing immunity stopping you from catching it again in the future too.

You’re either being very unreasonable with your over the top “it doesn’t work, I’m going to be awkward and complain about wearing a mask” or you’re being unwilling to read the facts, you just read the headline.

I apologise if any of that came across nasty I didn’t mean it to be, but you’re spreading fake news so..
Fake news are you for real, don't try and tell me what I am on about don't be so arrogant as to state that. I am not on about reaching 50% of people I am on about 50% effectiveness. At this moment there is no vaccine for Covid 19, they are still in the process of testing them. "Quote"

Professor Adrian of the Jenner Institute in Oxford has warned against 'over promising' on his lab's coronavirus vaccine

Oxford University scientists working on a coronavirus vaccine have said it may only have a 50-per-cent chance of success.
Project leader Professor Adrian Hill, of the university’s Jenner Institute, said the realization of a working vaccine was far from guaranteed and cautioned against “over promising”, in an interview with The Sunday Telegraph. "Un-Quote"

Here is a link for you, and this professor is not the only one, but I not going to bother to look up the rest of them you can do that yourself. Perhaps instead of telling me to read up about it you should do the reading.

As I explained in the other thread, you've got it completely wrong mate. He's saying the vaccine has a 50% chance of success because the virus is dying and he's "worried" there won't be enough people to test the vaccine on to get it approved.

Thankfully, we're testing in Brazil so that clears that "worry" that this gentleman has.

March 23 rd 74 deaths so best lockdown .. 40k deaths later ease restrictions and death rate drops...im not imagining this am i ?
fancy being outdoors and breathing fresh air being good for you . who would have thought it ?

No you are not imagining it. This virus shut the world down and yet nothing about it adds up if you do the research and dont listen to the government and media

The issue is most only do msm,and those who look"outside the box" are quickly labeled as conspiracy theorists etc etc,I have questioned the recording of deaths in most countries, with the many thousands having it recorded on death certificate, even without testing!! I have also quoted many times, that in Italy roughly only 15% of deaths have covid 19 as cause of death!! Sounds more like a true picture to me.I will say,I was taken by surprise on how easily people locked themselves down, the goverment asked and the people obeyed, and with a death toll of very small numbers too! Even now, less than a million deaths, just over 600,000 in fact, and the world has to shut down?? Turkey 83m people, less tHan 5000 deaths? Are they just lucky,or are they recording the deaths more accurately? ? :old: :bluebird:

Correct it's a load of shit

Re: COVID-19 Vaccine All but confirmed

Mon Jul 27, 2020 1:43 am

A lot of people clearly don't understand how the testing and implementation of vaccines works it will be long time yet before any of them are come to widespread use (if any of the current crop actually do) at least 6 months from now. Even when a vaccine is made avaliable and implemented we will be living with Covid worldwide for the rest of our lives likely. We have only ever eliminated 2 diseases in history with vaccines Rinderpest (not a human disease) and Smallpox which took almost 200 years from the vaccines discovery and a lot of work from the UN and WHO that I cant see countries committing enough to in current times given how many populists we have in power of several countries.

Re: COVID-19 Vaccine All but confirmed

Mon Jul 27, 2020 6:40 am

Vaccines won't work

The only way to beat this totally is to have a simultaneous worldwide lockdown of all countries following the same guidelines for about 6 weeks .
