Help needed re: Refund credit for season tick

Tue Jul 21, 2020 12:49 pm

Hi guys, old poster under new username, hope you can help my old man and I

We are season ticket holders and opted for a refund to be used as credit towards next season tickets, on our accounts it just says refund option pending, now we are concerned as we want to renew tomorrow but haven't got the credit refund to use towards this.

Is anybody in the same boat? or have been received their refund credit?

Having spoke to a nice lady at club previously about pending credit you'll probably find it will be added when you go to buy ST best way is try buy ST and see if the credit is taken off price .. if not will need to contact ticket office or commercial office if corperate ST holder

Yup I can confirm from my experience that that is correct

I haven’t had my refund yet and it just states pending. Ithink they just need to get on and do it now...they’ve had long enough. I opted for a full refund as I won’t be able to attend any games due to illness.

Just contact them if not renuing ST and ask where is my refund? It's not rocket science

Didn't mean to sound hard but others complaining have a choice upto them to make it.. hopefully you'll get response soon but suspect have to patiently wait or go to ticket office personally..I had same problem 1st season in premier league missed it all so empathise with you.

No worries bud - I agree...if any queries should just contact the club etc. I have already heard back and they have stated that match ticket refunds will commence on 20th July and season ticket refunds on 27th. That said they are extremely busy and many staff still working remotely. By the sounds of it, hopefully it won’t be too long long though but I’d Personally allow another 2-3 weeks to see refunds coming in. They’ve got to work through thousands. Match tickets purchasing I’m presuming are people who had purchased a ticket With or without membership and flex 5. They are working on it though and it will be done in due course as soon as they can but have already started working on it. :thumbright:

I chose the full refund option and I think the club are out of order! The email I have recieved says that the refunds have not been processed yet due to staff shortages and it takes time to process... ok fair enough... What I don't agree with is they then put next seasons ST on sale which will clearly increase work load!

I'm sorry but I really have lost faith with top level football and this idea that we're fans so must stick by the club bollocks!

Renewed for my dad and I, credit refund was under voucher option on ticket page, a bit fiddly website, I’d suggest a big revamp as it’s not user friendly but renewed our same seats and it only cost my old man £166 for him as senior and £209 for me what a bargain

With little coming in maybe they needed to generate more income before making the refund payments. Airlines have spread refunds out over 3-4 months (Ryanair, etc.) to avoid too much strain on the accounts.

These are tough times for clubs with outgoings far exceeding the very limited income.

It's also probably a lot less labour intensive to take money in than to pay it out. Purchasing will be automated whereas I'd be surprised if refunds don't have to go through some sort of manual checking ?

I agree with you Mikey. They have had ample time to resolve refunds and giving themselves the additional task of season ticket sales before they have finished it seems illogical and unfair. I'd imagine fans who chose refund are in need of the money. Just as well they don't actually have to sell any play off tickets, how would they cope!

I'm sorry I don't by that. So far they have had 23 days since the deadline to refund fans their money. I accept clubs are potentially struggling but is that my problem when players at the club are on anything from a few grand a week to 20-30k a week?

I used to be one of those that supported the club no matter what but when we take the blue tinted specs off and understand that it's a business that pays out obscene amounts of money to some of it's staff but then expects the little guy (aka me and you) to wait for money that I could really do with during these tough times you start to realise they're taking the piss!!

This is not just ST money but money from a number of tickets I purchased for the Leeds game as well. The club then have the cheek to put season tickets on sale and to tell fans that if the game is behind closed doors there will be no refunds! And I see some fans thinking they're getting a bargain!!

im awaiting a few refunds myself { not from our club } ive had e mails explaining it will take some time and why { which is bleeding obvious } i get it.. yes the club could have made cut backs elsewhere, furloughed staff which they didnt..not extend Danny Wards contract... but is that really what people wanted ?
