Harris what a signing

Sun Jul 19, 2020 3:12 pm

Iwas one of the oh no not him when he was appointed i have eaten my words since fair play the guy knows his football and his selections are spot on ,whatever happens this season i feel next season under him we will be a force to reckon with , i loved warnock but he did baffle me with some of the team selections he made last season , how could you leave a player like Will Vaulkes out of this team they guy gives his all and more for starters also the keeper situation not knocking Etherdige but Smithies a far better option which has been proved and the top of the bunch barring that one horror pass against Blackburn BUCUNA what a player Glatzel has upped his game still needs a bit more but a lot better under Neil Harris and Morrison has been revamped after some horror showings last season
so if we go up or stay down Harris is deffo the man to take us forward with this flowing football
i fear no one in those play offs on a one game shoot out at Wembley we take anyone  :bluebird:

I doubt he was anyone’s choice so most of us have been pleasantly surprised at what he has brought so far to the club

Manager Neil Harris hopes that Cardiff City's run to the Championship play-offs has settled any doubts that he deserves to be at the helm.

Cardiff will be in the play-offs regardless of other results if they avoid defeat to relegation-threatened Hull City on Wednesday night.

"I like to think I've proven myself... that I deserve to be here and that I can carry the club forward," he said.

"I've been part of the ride and want it to continue past Wednesday night."

Harris' appointment in November, replacing Neil Warnock, was not universally welcomed by some Bluebirds fans.

Cardiff were 14th in the Championship at the time, seven points outside the top six.

Roll forward eight months to last weekend when Cardiff won 3-1 at Middlesbrough - a side now managed by Warnock - to put themselves within one result of clinching a play-off berth.

"We've got momentum and I can't wait for Wednesday as I'm enjoying watching my team - that's a big thing, the way we're playing at the moment," Harris said.

I was aghast at his appointment seeing it as a poor like for like replacement for Warnock. However, Harris has worked some magic on these players - he seems to have studied their weaknesses, and I would say that everyone of the regular match day squad has improved under him. Tonight will hopefully culminate in him and the players getting what they deserve for the obvious hard work and reshaping of how we play that they did during lockdown. But, if the unthinkable happens and we miss out, we should not try and play the blame game. Neil Harris has done a remarkable job and I hold my hands up and say that I was totally wrong about his ability to manage our club. Good luck Bluebirds :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Harris' pre-match thoughts

“We have to make sure we’re the best we can be, with and without the ball. That’ll be the same against Hull.

“We know what we have to do and what we need points-wise to get through to the play-offs. We won’t worry about what other teams are doing. It’s purely about Cardiff City.”

Asked about being within touching distance of the Premier League, Harris added: “When you say it’s only four games, it seems close. But anything beyond Hull is disrespectful to them.

Cardiff boss Harris looking to maintain momentum

Cardiff City v Hull City (19:30 BST)

Since Neil Harris took over as Cardiff City manager in November, he has lifted the Bluebirds from lowly 14th to the brink of a play-off place.

BBC Sport Wales spoke to the former Millwall player and manager about how he feels the momentum is with his side heading into this evening's last match at home to Hull.

What they need: Cardiff City (6th - 70 points)

Cardiff City v Hull City (19:30 BST)

Cardiff City go into tonight's last match against relegation-threatened Hull City knowing they need just a point to book their place in the play-offs.

But boss Neil Harris has expressly told his coaches and staff that he will not want to know a thing about what's happening elsewhere until he asks them himself.
