What happened during lockdown?

"I don’t know. Probably a bit of magic!

"We have just been focused. The manager has put out really good tactics for us, it’s not about playing long balls anymore.

"Since we’ve been back from lockdown, we haven’t really scored from the set piece, which was one of our strengths.

"We are scoring from open play, it’s a different way but it’s successful. If we keep working we can be a real threat."

Do you have unfinished business in the Premier League?

"Yeah. When I joined Cardiff we were struggling for relegation. We were very unfortunate.

"We had played some fantastic football, the last game against Man United we got three points and played really well.

"Cardiff is a club that deserves to be in the Premier League. The fans are great and it’s so good playing in the Premier League."

You rarely get the headlines. Do you feel undervalued?

"No I don’t. I tried to do my best for the team and if I can help out at right back or in the middle, I try to do my best.

"If you are a goalscorer you always get highlighted. The one who scores always gets the credit, but it’s about the team. I don’t care who scores.

"We need the keeper as much as we need the other 17 or 18 players."

How do you feel about coming up against Neil Warnock?

"I saw a quick post-match after the game, he said he was playing his old team and he knows 10 or 11 players who really want to play against him.

"It will be nice playing against someone who signed me. But now I’m not really thinking about it.

"If we do the right thing, work hard and do the tactics the manager gave us, we will have no problems against Boro."

How do you focus on the game?

"When we got into the top six we were looking behind us. We were happy and satisfied and you can see that against Blackburn and Fulham.

"But after that, against Derby, we were playing some really good football.

"We just need to maintain focus and keep looking upwards."

What has Neil Harris done well at Cardiff so far?

"It’s tough to say. He has come in and changed the way we are playing.

"Beforehand, we didn’t really have a shape to our defensive play. Now we are working on a real good shape on the pitch, not man for man and running all over the gaff.

"That’s helped us, getting patterns going forward and settling down.

"It’s not all about playing long balls."

When you arrived, did you think Cardiff would stay in the Premier League?

"Yeah, when I signed I signed with a lot of confidence. Looking at the team, I didn’t think we were going down.

"I signed with a positive feeling.

"We deserve to be in the playoffs now and try to win the two games to get promoted again, if we reach the playoffs."

Bacuna is asked about what Cardiff's potential play-off opponents would think about facing them

"That’s exactly what I mean. Fulham or Brentford won’t be happy to play Cardiff City."

For me, Leandro Bacuna is one of those players who has proved the early doubters wrong by showing of late what a worthy and versatile asset he is to this team

Took the full back mantle off a tired looking Sanderson versus Derby and a strong contender for Man of the Match

Does make me wonder if our former manager actually suppressed certain players whilst raising the game of others that suited his tried and tested 'system' in his time here?

Absolutely one of the star men since the return for myself. Can play midfield or full back and vital to the squad :bluebird:

He looks a different player since the season started again.

Playing in a midfield 3 suits him but he seems to struggle with just two of them.

He just seems to get on with things. I like that about him. Surprised he hasn’t had a bash at more free kicks though

Have to say,he seems to be underrated by a few on here, but for me he has shown of late he has improved his game in his time under Harris, as said he just "gets on with it,with little fuss.and having met him a while back at tesco extra in ely, where he stopped and posed for selfies with a few youngsters, including one of my nephews by his car, and signed autographs, came across as a very decent bloke in all fairness  :old: :bluebird:
