Who would you bring in?

Wed Jul 15, 2020 1:30 am

At the risk of tempting fate - if this team did get promoted, who would you sign to give us a chance up there? I'm assuming Camarasa is everyone's first pick - mine too. But, who else do you think is an achievable target in our case?

And for anyone who doesn't like to speculate - what positions would you improve here in general?

Definitely a right back of high quality and a striker (to battle the number 9 shirt with Glatzel). Agree that VC could be a number 10 like Tomlin.

Eberechi Eze - However he may be destined for a better side than ours, but the boy is quality and only 22.
Karlan Grant - Clinical and has managed 18 goals in a terrible Huddersfield Town side and also 22.
Matty Cash - Quality athletic Right back.
Antonee Robinson - Very good full back at Wigan.
Kristoffer Pedersen - Brilliant Birmingham LB
Ben Pearson - f**ker of a player but one that youd love on your side and has been Prem quality for years.
Jed Wallace - Been brilliant this season for Millwall
Joe Lolley - Been brilliant for Forest for 2 years now
Conor Gallagher - Wasted at Swansea and would be better here lol.
Tosin Adebabayo - Man City CB on loan at Blackburn and is big, strong, quick, and very good with ball at feet.
Rhian Brewster - Too good for the Championship and would be nice to join us lol.
Ollie Watkins - If Brentford didnt go up ;)
Bryan Mbeumo -If Brentford didnt go up. (Benrhama far too out of our league)
Adam Armstrong - Really good player for Blackburn, scored 14 goals and would do well in the prem i reckon.

Some young, hungry, top Championship names/players that would be great investments imo and would be comfortable playing in the prem but hopefully wouldnt leave if we got relegated and would help us come back up.

Done your research. Haha. Some good names on that list exactly the type of players we should be after. And a pretty realistic one. Not the usual Bale, Ramsey, Messi.

We are unlikely to go up but if we did we would struggle badly

To have any chance of staying up we would need at least6/7 new players

We would be better off buying/loaning a load of youngsters and hope Harris can build a team which is at least competitive

If we don’t go up we need to loan 2/3 premiership youngsters. We definitely need someone who will score 15 goals, 1/2 attacking fullbacks and a creative midfielder

It’s probably unrealistic but whatever division we are in I would like to sign Joe Allen, but that’s just wishful thinking on my behalf!!

I like the idea of Troy Deeny ,i think he is a genuine feller :occasion5: :occasion5: :occasion5:

Right back - neco williams or romero from millwall

Wingers wallace or the one from boro

Left back use began next season or a loan from prem
Midfield - cant think off top of my head
Defender get flint out bring in some one better
Get rid of bennett and patterson
Bring in striker like defoe or connelly from brighton also

Wether we go up or stay down we need to sign 5 new players IMO.

RB
LB
defensive/box to box midfielder preferably with pace and a bit of bite in him
A skilful number 10 to fight with Tomlin for that spot
Another winger

On top of those bring Cioran Brown up to the first team as he is the best CB at the club IMO I think he will be awesome and end up at a bigger club eventually if we are stupid enough to let him go.

I would build a team to win the championship the year after

Young hungry players who are relatively cheap like Sanderson or the likes of some of the Chelsea youngsters

We would need :

2 Strikers
2 right backs
A defensive midfielder

Spend £20mill max at about £4mill per player which gives you quality a championship level ,come back down and then we will have the makings of a team that can challenge and actually stay up the next time after a further 2 Windows.
This team would need a full overhaul to stay up this time and would probably bankrupt the club to achieve it, very similar to villa this year. I would prefer Norwich route and get the club financially secure with the money then go for it from fresh.

You wouldn’t get a place on the committee as you’re over qualified in the football knowledge department.

Not sure of his name but the young lad we tried to sign from Portsmouth he went to Wigan and when they played us down here this season he tore us apart.

So it begs the question, who would you let go.

If we went up the only players I would regard as possible first team choices would be Smithies, Bennett, Nelson, Ralls, NML & Glatzel.
Hoillett, vaulks, Morrison , Bacuna would be ‘possibles’ IMO
