" Wayne Rooney "

Tue Jul 14, 2020 8:54 pm

I was worried about him tonight, thought he would cause us too many problems for us to cope with.

But he was absolutely dreadful.

Even if you ignore his gift for Lee Tomlin's winner, it was an extremely poor performance from Rooney.

Did a job on him. At times sat off and give him loads of time and space other times went through him.

Everything from Derby goes through him. Cut that off and they struggle with all those silly through balls or go back to their keeper.

Well done Harris. And Tomlin, Pack and Ralls for getting to him.

Trouble is hes playing with inferior players and its been showing lately ! Think he just cant keep making passes that are not seen by team mates and keep his high standards... tonight he was totally ineffective largely due to lack of movement in front of him

Father time is no respecter of big names.

Played a lot of football for a 34 year old.

Alot of ex premier players struggle in the championship when they're getting on. They get no time on the ball!

He has played really for Derby last few games. I was worried , we might have shown him a bit too much respect. Was poor tonight though

Watched the Derby v Forest game on Sky and I thought he was very poor in that game, looks a stone overweight and totally lacking in fitness. In fact after watching that game I hoped Derby would play him tonight as he is pretty much a passenger these days even for a championship club. If he is not prepared to get fit he should retire, bit of an embarrassment these days. Snow gate is avenged.

When Tomlin took the ball off him he made absolutely no attempt to track back or try to win the ball back - just stood still and watched a true master craftsman finish with aplomb.

Looked lazy and disinterested. Would not be happy with that if I was a team mate, his manager or a Derby supporter.

Spent his time arguing with the lino.

Those 2 free kicks near the end were woeful.

Rooney has been superb for Derby since joining January and is one of the key reasons Derby's form has improved massively and he's made a lot of the other younger Derby players around him better too. The fact that teams have had to stick someone on him to stop Derby playing still says a lot about his quality, however he was awful against us and couldnt do anything right and was made to look really really poor by Tomlin and Pack.

If pack makes you look shite its definitely time to retire.

Spot on. Lazy. Not happy either if a supporter.
