Cardiff City manager Neil Harris: "There is an element to some teams that they have to win games of football. We are not at that stage because we are in sixth, but we want to win games of football.

"Derby have some talented players, just like other teams in the top six or top eight or top 10 in this division - the whole league has good players.

"We have to make sure we are on our game to deal with their threats, like Wayne Rooney, for example, gracing the Championship with his quality.

"We have to make sure our shape and organisation is very good but we have got players who are good at this level as well, who can hurt the opponent."

Derby County manager Phillip Cocu: "I think both teams will need a win.

"With only three games left you need three points to keep pushing for a play-off spot. They are quite direct, more direct-playing team.

"They are dangerous with set plays. Midfield with a lot of physical power and runs in behind, anticipating, passing to their striker and second balls.

"We have to be really focused and anticipate that part of the game, pick up second balls keep defensive shape and then its up to us if we have possession to play our own game against them."

Not often I would disagree with the gaffer but slip up tonight and its season over.

No a draw wont be end season that's for sure! If we drew Swan's win they're one point above us other two rivals winning they are level with us......goal differences are very close for all teams and we have chance to enhance ours against boro & hull while rivals have one more difficult game to play next

He cannot start Paterson surely?

Still reeling at Gabbidon smirking when Prutton likened Paterson to Mitrovic pre the game at Fulham on Sky

His starting X1 tonight will be telling us a lot about Harris as a manager when the pressure is on. He got it wrong in last 2 home games so has he learned especially from the Blackburn game, whom came for a win as undoubtedly Derby will tonight?

Saying that though he’s hampered by having some distinctly average players to choose from.
