It’s all gone pretty much how you wanted?


SEAN MORRISON:

"We got off to a better start than everyone would have imagined. We always hoped we would.

"The way which it happened, we were delighted to pick up those points in the first few games.

"The Blackburn game at home was a game we were looking at winning, but they pressed high and at half-time we were happy, but they went on to win a game.

"This week has been a tough week.

"But if you said it would still be in our own hands and we don’t have to ask for any favours off anyone I’d have snapped your hand off."

Does experience help in these situations?


SEAN MORRISON:

"I think so. Some players need an arm around them.

"So to have myself, Sol and Rallsy, there’s a big group of us still there from that promotion group.

"Three games still to go and a lot of teams in the mix but hopefully we have enough to get over the line."

Differences and similarities between this and the other promotion-winning side?


SEAN MORRISON:

"The differences, hard to say.

"Similarities, you’re always going to get the same, you play with the heart on the sleeve, play for the club and the badge, that’s the absolute minimum.

"We’ve still got a fantastic squad, the squad two seasons ago was no better than this one.

"We still have players who will run through brick walls for each other.

"We’ve still got a super strong group who want to bounce back into the Premier League, that’s where all players want to play. You want to be in the best league in the world, the best league, the best players.

"We’ve got to focus on Derby the other night and focus on picking up that final play-off spot."

Unfinished business?


SEAN MORRISON:

"I think the club does in general.

"Cardiff City have been in the Premier League twice in the last few seasons, bouncing straight back down to the Championship.

"The club, the size of the fanbase, the facilities. It has potential to be a solid Premier League club.

"The owners know that, the players know that. Unfinished business from a personal point of view but the club in general has to."

Derby County - they are going to be desperate…


SEAN MORRISON:

"It makes it difficult.

"When you are in that chasing pack, sometimes you can just go full at the game.

"Players can half-cheat on the defensive side of their work, so it makes it difficult for us.

"We were against Fulham, until the penalty came. The game plan was working, let them come on to us and pounce on the mistakes.

"We have to be just as organised and use the ball better."

Stop Wayne Rooney pulling the strings?


SEAN MORRISON:

"Exactly. He has had some career, hasn’t he?

"You want to put yourself up against these players. He can’t get up and down the pitch like you used to, but technically he is a world-class player.

"The boys in midfield will have their work cut out."

Do you need a rest?


SEAN MORRISON:

"I’m talking on behalf of myself and the lads, but across the country, it is tough. Not only physically, but mentally.

"We had three and a half months of nothing and we were dying to get back to it.

"I’m not going to sit here and complain. Body is tired, brain is tired, but, come tomorrow night, the whole group will be ready to go.

"Wembley is the goal, ever since the new manager came in. Once you’re in there it’s a lottery.

"If you can perform over 180 minutes and get yourself to Wembley it’s there for the taking.

"Whoever gets there earns promotion to the Premier League."
