I’m getting fed up of watching Paterson couldn’t hit a cow up the ass with a shovel . Why is he not playing glatzel or ward 2 people who we know can score goals and fire us into the playoffs .anyone feel the same or is it just me

People look at Pattersons work rate and his nuisance value to defenders! Yes may cause defender to miss tackle or miss a ball and let in a city player but that is not being a striker plus it is not working and hasn't all season... now is time to put on a striker ward/glatzel from start and if required put other one on at half time not 75mins.. its make or break now

Paterson is never going to be someone who gets 20 goals. But he does the job of wearing down defenders before we bring on the likes of Ward and Glatzel - and that is invaluable.

Is he the best at doing that in the league? No. But he's the best option we have for doing that at the moment.

Patterson is a headless chicken and defenders don't get worn down because they easily play the ball away before he gets near them. He only wears himself out.
It's no secret I dont rate Glatzel but he's a better option than Patterson all day long.

Personally if we were going tonise him as a super sub I would rather us play a front 3 of our wingers interchanging.

We could have Murphy , Hoilett and Mendez as a front 3 getting the ball down and running at defences which sounds better than pumping long aimless balls up the pitch

How does he wear the players down?

He is wasted up front as he seems to spend the entire game with his back to goal. When he is playing in other positions he has an uncanny knack of turning up in front of goal with no one around him. And he is surprisingly quick. Trouble is its a dilemma where to play him when Vaulks, Ralls and Bacuna are doing ok in the midfield and Tomlin in the role of behind the striker if that's what we go with.

we do win more when pato starts...
we do score more
and actually concede a lot less..
but maybe people like the championship ?

quite possible he will go for Bacuna at right back, Paterson in midfield, and A.N. OTHER up front ?

I don’t think he wears defenders down. I think defenders play against him for 5 mins, think they’re in for a treat after realising how clumsy he is and then they get caught out when an actual striker comes on

Sounds about right.. otherwise if we are relying on a player just to be a nuisance to help us win games we are knackered..
