Norwich City have been relegated from the Premier League.

Their relegation was confirmed after a 4-0 home defeat to relegation rivals West Ham.

Norwich were a disgrace today. Rolled over with no fight. Worst premier league season performance for quite some time

NORWICH RELEGATED FROM PREMIER LEAGUE WITH A WHIMPER

Sat Jul 11, 2020 3:23 pm

Norwich City confirmed their inevitable return to the Championship with a weak display in losing to previously struggling West Ham United 4-0 with all four goals from Michail Antonio

"They haven't learned all season," declared Dean Ashton as Norwich generously allowed Michail Antonio to open the scoring after just 11 minutes.

The radio pundit, who played up front for both of these sides, was talking about their defending from corners and specifically some statuesque zonal non-marking, but his words equally applied to the Canaries as a whole. Their relegation, now confirmed, had been an inevitability for a number of months.

With this win for West Ham United and Watford turning things around versus Newcastle United, it surely won't be long before Aston Villa make a welcome (for most Bluebird supporters) return to the Championship; just as it looks like Jack Greaish' Man Utd move looks to be stalling big time with an unrealistic valuation and United now looking at other options

Happy days! :D

Well we know how they feel

Cant fault Norwich

They never expected to go up and they gave the team that did it a shot in the Premier league.

They spent literally nothing , will now be debt free in the championship with £150mill in the bank which protects the club financially for years to come.
They will be a force next season as they will have a lot of money to add to a already decent team.

Compare that to Villa who were already massively in debt before promotion and spent over £120mill to try and survive. They will go down with totally unserviceable debts and likely be in very big trouble. especially given they very likely broke FFP to get up in the first place so points deduction and fine is on the way

I'd rather be in Norwich position at the moment they can now build the club in any way they like with no troubles whatsoever

They won’t bank 150 million, did we? We only spent 35 million and got 10 back for Bobby Reid, so 25, a pittance in this day and age. I’m sure Norwich paid out big bonus like we did.

Norwich are not in debt like we are for a start.

We spent way more than £35million
More like £60mill with Warnock.

Money spent on Murphy (£11mill), reid (£10mill), smithies (£4mill), cunningham (£4mill) and bacuna (£4mill) blows your £35 million guess out of the water straight away. Add in the other transfers, The Sala money, large loan fees and wages for Arter, Camarasa and Niasse. And we are heading up towards £60/£70 million in reality for that season without player wages and bonuses.

In contrast Norwich have very little serviceable debt, spent nothing on signings and had very basic wage increases. They will walk away from this season very well off financially.

The total fees stated come to 33m so that does not blow 35m figure straight away. The wages for camarasa, arter and Niasse Half a season would only be a around 5m total. Sala money is still disputed but of course we got money back for Reid and still resale value on other players mentioned.

Arguing over £2mill is just being pedantic. They are reported fees anyway no exact numbers.

The rest of your points are irrelevant it makes no difference if they were sold afterwards it was still spent and this is about the difference between our spending and Norwich. You also happen to mention the wages of those three loans which is probably accurate on what we paid them but fail to mention the loan fees which would likely double that amount.

The truth is and will be proven in actual accounts that we spent £60mill minimum on player transfers agent fees and loans in that season

Another comparison is the wage bill

Ours in the Premier league was a reported £43million

Norwich this season in a reported £15million

I would say goven all that and the fact they have no debt before promotion they will do very well financially

VILLA - Won 2-0 earlier today and as things stand - BOURNEMOUTH are 2-1 Up with 15 mins to go .

This brings in any 2 clubs from 5 could still go down . Watford v WHU - Next week .

So taking Reid out as we sold him for a bit more even, I count 23 million, Arter on 40k is about 2 million, cam the same I guess....I’m still struggerling to hit 30 Thomas but you know best Thomas.....20 million in bonus’s so let’s round it up to 70 for fun.

Wasn't our wage bill the lowest and half that of Burnley who had the next lowest. That said I think Norwich spent less than 2m last summer

Good time for Bournemouth to record their biggest win of the season :o

You have not included any agents fees or loan fees . You are twisting numbers and making a totally different discussion to prove a point which is totally wrong.
If you think we only spent 23million you are deluded and need to look at the bigger picture of how football actually works
