NOTTINGHAM FOREST HAVE DECISION TO MAKE ON FUTURE OF £1.8 MILLION-RATED WINGER
Harry Mail

Friday 10th July 2020

Nottingham Forest have a decision to make on the future of Albert Adomah at the club this summer.

The experienced winger, who is valued at £1.8 million on Transfermarkt, still has a year left on his contract at the City Ground.

Adomah, who is 32 years old, played 27 times for the Reds earlier this season but was loaned out to Cardiff City in January.

It is yet to be known whether he is part of Sabri Lamouchi’s long-term plans. He could find first-team opportunities hard to come by next season if he stays, especially if Forest gain promotion to the Premier League.

Adomah is a decent option for the Reds and adds more depth to their options out wide. However, their decision to recall him from Cardiff early may have left a sour taste.

Forest could look to sell him this summer to ensure they get a fee for him and avoid losing him for nothing in 2021.

Adomah would be a decent acquisition for a fellow Championship side and has proven himself in this league. Could Cardiff move back in for him?

The Ghana international had stints at Harrow Borough and Barnet before joining Bristol City in 2010. He has since had spells at Middlesbrough and Aston Villa, both of whom he helped gain promotion to the top flight.

Nottingham Forest’s sights will be set on the Play-Offs at the moment but they will need to decide whether Adomah has a future at the club next season or whether they will offload him.

If they take the latter option, could he be an asset for Cardiff City next season?

Purely based on he average age of our team (which I’m led to believe is the oldest in the Championship), it would be a no from me at 32. I think we need to move forward with a more energetic approach, which has worked well lately - especially in central midfield - but could still be improved on and humans naturally slow through the ageing process.

If he hadn’t played for us on loan for several months, I don’t think his name would even be mentioned during a financial period where cut backs look inevitable. Harsh, but we can’t afford sentiment and we have plenty of wingers.

He did well for us and I wish him the best for future endeavours.

good point about age...Derby started their last game with an 18 year old and two 19 year olds ..their subs were a 21 year old and three 19 years olds. not including Sanderson who is here on loan our youngest starter was Murphy at 25..

No thank you. Decent player but thats about it. Didnt set the world alight here and doesnt look the player he was at Aston Villa 2 seasons ago and has lost that yard or two of pace. Id rather we look for a player who's legs aren't going to completely go in the next season or 2 and this would be just another case of a player who can 'do a job' blocking the pathway of younger talent from our academy. He filled a gap when NML was out but if we are going to sign a winger id rather it be someone in their early to mid 20's. And im pretty sure Harris has been told to lower the average age of the group anyway so id be surprised if signing Adomah becomes permanent.

Not fussed. He did ok with us but didn’t improve the team a big amount. Could probably find better and/or younger options in the summer

Depends what the availability and costs occurred are with bringing in another player.

For me, I’d be happy with him on a one year contract as a squad player. He’d do a great job in that role.

Decent player but not worth that figure at his age.

Agreed on both counts, but after the abject performance's from Hoilett of late, can't help but think he could have done a job for us in the run in,to help us over the finish line? Just my personal feeling on it,as he has plenty of experience and could have helped others around him.may as well give Whyte a crack, put junior on the bench. :old: :bluebird:

its a transfermarkt guess valuation not anything Forest have said.. id imagine it wouldnt take much to persuade them to sell if we were interested..must be a big wage and he doesnt seem to interest their manager..
