NEIL HARRIS:

Quality

"The biggest thing for me is that Lee Tomlin wants to play. He wants to be involved and he’s put himself forward for every game so far. It’s frustrating, and Tommo’s more frustrated than anybody, because he’s desperate to offer more to us as a group, but for the moment, I’m just pleased to have him involved in games in some shape or form, because back in March, he wasn’t going to figure again for us. The bigger picture is there’s stuff we’ll have to take care of in the off-season. We'll just have to accept it for what it is and we’ll just keep nurturing him along."

There is no doubt the guy has talent in bundles

But at what point do we say, that wage could go on another player who is available more.

Harris says " he wants to play, he puts himsellf forward for games"

That doesnt wash with me, hes on 30k a week allegedly for christ sake

Motivate him , get him fit, hes had plenty of time

Or get rid

I believe, reading between the lines, Tomlin is nursing his injury still, but has been putting his name down to try and help his teammates,if we wern't at the business end of the table,he probably wouldn't be in the squad, but they(Harris and tomlin) are risking him playing some role in getting us over the line.someone was slagging off Glatzel, saying he thinks too slow, isn't natural etc etc,but when tomlin and he are on the pitch,Glatzel has no problem reading where tomlin is going to play him in,as we have seen.I would normally say if a player is carrying an injury, why risk it getting worse! But I can see Tomlin's value in these last few games,my only concern is he makes it worse, and has to miss the play offs ;) I wouldn't get rid of him,he seems to have his head on this year, came back fitter than ever, and is a magician when fit,I would keep him,we need his type of football nous to unlock defences, his type don't come cheap either. :old: :bluebird:

Wouldn’t be surprised to see him have an op during close season and reading between the lines he’s possibly having pain killing injections before playing.

Absolutely need to keep him he’s the only real quality we have.

I thought a few games ago he was coming on as sub because of lack of match fitness but he’s obviously carrying an injury and trying to get as much game time as he can

The big thing is he wants to play and apparently is biting at the bit to feature.
