"Firstly, from a manager’s perspective you don’t want to see anyone lose their job. You understand the pressures you’re under as a manager.

"It’s a shame I felt we played a big part in it, it was a big win for our fan base, but I’m sure Lee will be proud of what he did at Bristol City and he will move on to pastures new.
