Dr Hilary “I wouldn’t fly”

Mon Jun 15, 2020 7:00 am

He has been one of the best commentators on Corona Virus, he just said no chance of him flying, it’s not safe and that’s how the virus spread here in the first place, mostly from Spain and Italy.

He did say he would definitely send his kids to school as this is as safe as it can be with very little risk.

Would you fly based on that ?

As with anything at the minute I would risk assess...

Do I need to fly? No. So I wouldn't.

Like do I need to go shopping today just because the shops are open again. No. So I wouldn't also.

If I HAD to for work or any other reason. I would. Talking all necessary precautions.

I completely agree unless it’s essential that people shouldn’t do it at present. Obviously this will hopefully change in the coming months but for the moment essential trips is all for me. Haven’t seen anyone in over 3 months but I’d rather stay safe than mix with people as I’m not well anyways.

I agree, ring the bike, walking, anything outdoors really safe especially if you stick to the two metres.

I would say flying is the most dangerous, because of all the hassles in the airports like security, departure lounges, overhead lockers, bag collection and then an aluminium tube with on toilet per fifty people plus recycled air (you can't open a window :laughing6: )

A cruise would be almost as bad, then pubs and non-essential shopping are also likely spreaders.
