My sentiments exactly Annis. Two well chosen photos to back up your statement too. Well said.

Yes but the point is saying such a thing completely devalues the historical-present persecution that black people have suffered. Of course peoples lives matter no ones saying they don’t matter (It’s just pushing an irrelevant viewpoint and has nothing to do with anything). That’s like saying I’m going to hold a straight pride lol........why? When have straight people suffered hatred towards them? Gee whiz!

I can’t speak personally for black people because I was bought up in a racist environment with white privileges. However I would guess the current goings on are a result of years of pent up anger. People still aren’t treated equally even if times have changed for the better.

Tell me more. What privileges do you have, where do you live that’s racist. I haven’t experienced these issues you talk about. Did you go to an all white school? Do you have a different health service? Do you have your own library ? Do you have your own supermarket? Shall I continue? Or is the point loud and clear.

Privileges i grew up with - I can walk down the street without someone wondering if I’m upto no good or perhaps a criminal. I can apply for jobs without worrying that my skin colour will potentially put people off, I can live my life without worrying about being abused in the street for my colour, If I happen to be arrested there’s more chance I won’t be assumed guilty as a white person. In accessing healthcare you may find people who are racist because it comes in all walks of life. Just a very few points. I did go to an all white school yes - funny that - a very wealthy area and not one black person in sight. Racial comments made in groups of people from friends, to partners, to the workplace to socialising and even at the football I’ve heard it! So don’t get me started on where it exists - if people open there eyes and ears it’s there l the time. Yes lot less within the last 5 - 10 years but still there. All I have to do to witness it is come on here at the moment. Mostly it’s ignorance but sometimes that’s just as bad. I’ve seen many black people abused throughout my teens or treated differently. So don’t pretend it doesn’t exist because that’s just plain ignorance. Things will never improve with your views mate! If people want someone to blame the riots on then they can blame themselves not black people.

Condon chief of Met police said that a large percentage (can’t remember exact amount) of violent crime in London was commited by Young black men. He was quoting factual stats at the time but was drawn over the coals for it. Please don’t say they were innocent and white crimes were being ignored.
