Benidorm late August

Sun Jun 14, 2020 3:22 pm

I’m thinking of booking flights and hotel for last weekend in August. But of a gamble re hotel but flights are refundable (voucher). Anyone have any thoughts on what it’ll be like?
YouTube shows some bars open at the moment and they seem to be opening more up by the day.

It will be full of drunken British Chavs who after a day on the lash will completely ignore social distancing so airline and hotel refunds will probably be the least of your worries

Personally, I have written off 2020 holidays completely just not worth the hassle

West Wales, Scotland and Cornwall for me next year, fingers crossed the weather won’t be shite

Spain will open its borders to members of the EU’s Schengen Zone, plus the UK, on June 21. The border was originally due to remain closed until July 1.

Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced the decision today during a conference call with regional leaders, as reported by Spanish newspaper El Pais.

The Portuguese border will remain shut until July 1 on the request of Portuguese PM Antonio Costa.

Travellers from other, non-EU countries will be allowed into the country without the need to self-quarantine from July 1 onwards, if there is a reciprocal agreement on travel.

After recording its first cases of Covid-19, Spain introduced one if Europe’s strictest lockdowns. Borders were closed on March 14 and a ‘state of alarm’ has restricted Spanish citizens from moving freely throughout the country – something that will also end on June 21.

Unlike the rest of Spain, the Balearics will welcome visitors as of tomorrow as part of a pilot reopening plan.

Easy to avoid drunken chavs if they’re there. :occasion5:

Depends what you want out of it I guess mate.

I wouldn't risk it personally, I just have a feeling it will be rubbish if there's no pool and your limited to where and what you can do, I'd keep your money in your pocket and wait for things to settle down mate, see what the lay of the land is later in the year can always get some winter sun elsewhere

Reserved hotel and don’t have to pay til 2 days before - 15th August - so we can make a decision then. Understandably a very good price and was a win win situation with the ‘reservation’. EasyJet also offering refund if we don’t go so no major problem.

Well I should have started my Mediterranean cruise today !
But I have changed it to a Caribbean cruise next march .
To be honest I'm not too confident of doing that. The next 18 months are going to be strange times .
I'll probably just stay home .
