Ashamed to be British

I tend not to get involved in these subjects but it has to be said.

I have never felt ashamed to be British before but I have this week.

Both sides of the protests have acted like animals.

Both sides arguments are fundamentally flawed

Both sides have dragged this country back 30 years by there actions

The police have proven they have no real control and are either incapable or too scared to intervene properly

The government has done zero to stop it

All this after we have had possibly the hardest months in living memory during lockdown and these idiots have thrown away all the hard work done by millions of people who accepted the need to protect this country.

Everyone involved should be ashamed of themselves.

We had a very small race problem before , we now have a huge one.

Get the army on the street from tonight, we probably now need a full lockdown for a month to both protect the public and NHS from Covid 19 second wave and also calm the tensions surrounding these racist protests on both sides.

ordinarily id be against stopping protests... annoying as some are I believe its a right, our right , all sides, all colours, all causes.. BUT. having seen the some black lives matter protests turn into riots in the USA and still having restrictions of movement , gatherings etc in place here re covid . last weeks should have been shut down immediately and all future large protests until gatherings were again allowed under the covid rules...

If I’d have gone to London today I’d have printed a large banner saying “where were you last week “ aimed solely at the Police,it’s obvious the Police were going to be in force today but where were they when needed most.
Most rational people can see through Khans trickery.

Totally agree and it's absolutely right for people to be able to protest. But it has to be at suitable times and places without violence
