EFL clubs will show their support for NHS key workers when the 2019/20 season resumes next weekend.

Swansea City restart the campaign against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on Saturday, June 20 while Cardiff City host Leeds United in the Welsh capital a day later.

And the EFL have revealed Championship, League One and League Two clubs will wear shirts featuring an ‘NHS Rainbow – Thank You’ emblem from the opening weekend of the resumption of the domestic campaign.

Given that the League One and League Two seasons have been curtailed, only clubs competing in the play-offs will adopt the emblems on their shirts.

Clubs will also show their continued support to NHS staff members who have worked tirelessly during the coronavirus pandemic through their own media channels and through various in-stadia displays during the selected fixtures while a minute's applause will also be held before next weekend's fixtures.

The NHS emblem will remain on playing shirts for all remaining fixtures of the 2019/20 Season.

EFL chairman Rick Parry said: “As all eyes turn to the return of football on the pitch, it is important that the league pays fitting tribute to the thousands of NHS key workers that continue to work on the frontline, supporting the country throughout the Covid-19 crisis.

“We know that many fans of EFL clubs are also NHS key workers and we’re proud of the commitment they, and our clubs, have shown to help the service over the past few months.

I like that touch. The NHS are heroes, I do hope Cardiff City players names stay on the back of shirts, Unlike prem league shirts. :bluebird:

To true

And the NHS staff dont firstly want this happy clappy nonsense they want a pay rise

I'm hoping someone in the FA puts a stop to any knee bending stupidity.
