Metropolitan Police Federation chairman Ken Marsh has demanded proper equipment for officers and called for urgent action from Met Commissioner Dame Cressida Dick.
Over the weekend, demonstrators threw bottles and fireworks at police during clashes at protests sparked by the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Dame Cressida condemned the attacks, writing in Monday's Evening Standard that 49 officers were injured in the weekend protests, including a mounted officer who fell from her horse.
