I’m not black however I hate anyone being treated differently just because of who they are. if I was Black I would imagine that coming on this message board, I’d feel devastated lately. It’s turned quite toxic and exhausting. I personally don’t agree with some actions that have occurred such as the way the statues have been torn down or the violence against the police. Perhaps it’s just got to a point where emotions are no longer under control. I am more for peaceful protests and that’s just my opinion however it’s gone beyond thatfor many. Don’t forget this is coming from someone who has been bought up with a white privilege. The trouble is positive change doesn’t come about without conflict whether that to be peaceful or harsh. There appears to be a small minority of people literally just out to cause trouble and they are spoiling it for the rest of people protesting.

I also worry about spread of the virus but this is years of passion and anger having boiled over. Perhaps the statues could be used as a way of learning how things have moved on and changed for the better. Thankfully in this day and age things have changed and for the better in terms of racism but obviously there is still a long way to go. Personally I believe that it’s down to everyone to play there part if we are ever going to tackle racism. Down to the individual for example if you are in a group of friends and someone makes a racist comment - you call them out. That’s what I mean by down to the individual. Obviously these are just my personal views and others will be different but I hope when all this settles abit people will listen and further changes will occur for the better.

I think the OP is spot on

But I don't believe it's toxic, I think seeing black & white hoodlums destroy property, attack police with the police sitting back or bending a knee to them has angered folk.

And whilst there is real racism in the UK I think it's been used as a weapon to attack or instigate hate and is nowhere near the level of racism in America

great post.

whats angered me more than the bullshit this forum has been spouting, is when Kap started the kneel, alot of people had problems with it and lost their freakin minds. the moment these protests turned, the same people have now spouted bullshit about if they protest it should be peaceful.

Coming from a mixed race family, very well worded  but I will also throw into the mix,the bame community have been left badly exposed to this virus, through the governments piss poor actions, allowing no end of people from badly affected countries to enter untested, allowing sporting events to take place etc etc, let's not forget that they seem to be suffering worst out of the races here in the uk,and elsewhere, add in the lockdown, and frustration from that, things reached boiling point, and this is in no way condoning the behaviour of some, but others attended in their thousands, and perhaps social distancing withstanding, behaved impeccably. This is just my opinion, which may well differ to yours, but it's just that,an opinion. :old: :bluebird:

It has to be said to, BAME do seem to have more fatalities

But, some mosques didn't all close and had secret meetings obesity was linked to and amount living in house, I don't believe covid19 us racist yo be honest, does anyone

Without sounding crass or uncaring isn't it just how it goes sometimes, I'm sure more white people die of cancer etc

My point it is we don't need to count if it's 15 lives it's 15 HUMAN lives not 2 white 8 brown 5 black.

It just adds fuel to the fire, we are all bloody just human beings for goodness sake.

Ban the word race

Ban the media from stirring up hate

Ignore the haters

your behaving impeccably post....your fully aware { id have thought } by your own experiences how easy it is for authorities to deal with small minorities of trouble makers often only a few steward required } ..and how it becomes much more difficult when more people are involved or complicit { police, horses. shields, truncheons, dogs } …
truth be told if the majority had been impeccably behaved you wouldn't need a serious police presence as the majority wouldn't allow looting, rioting and attacking war memorials...I know I wouldn't be able to stand by as someone tried to burn the union jack on the cenotaph or spray BLM on it..

But taking the numbers involved in the marches here,ok perhaps the word impeccably was the wrong choice, but in the main, most behaved in a civil manner? I agree that al, lives matter, and now understand your analogy  as I have said the behaviour of some (especially in the states) is in no way to be condoned, but it needed to be policed carefully surely, with tensions running high on both sides, lockdown imo has also played some part, where people are feeling frustrated, and we're on the edge so to speak anyway,I reiterate looting, assaults, and even worse deaths, does absolutely nothing for the cause (open to interpretation ;) )I am welsh/British, have mixed race in the family, and in no way does anyone from my family condone the behaviour of close to rioting! As has been hit upon,a lot of these "marchers " are clueless as to what they are actually marching for,and those from the bame community who attended these events, well we are dumbstruck, as it is the bame community that seem to be fairing a lot worse than others, regards dying from the virus, why would you risk your family and loved ones,by attending a rally for one of your own :? :old: :bluebird:

You are spot on butty. It's everyone's responsibility to try and combat racism. We all need to call it out when we witness it. People should be totally f*cking embarrassed if they think it's right to judge anyone just on the colour of their skin

Tell me guys

How can people dislike someone because of there colour??

I can't and never will understand it.

White, black, pink, purple

Surely it don't matter, we are all just human beings that share this world for a short period.
