So,an ex miner who was suffering with lung diseases linked to his old job is taken into hospital and dies 9 hours later.
You've guessed it ......coronavirus death

One little problem, the family could lose all rights to compensation if his death is not deemed to have been caused from the lung diseases that he suffered through working down the pit
Were being conned

IMO there is a virus ,that can lead to a awful death but with a relatively small infection and very small death rate.Is it really worth leading us into a massive global depression and us,our children and grandchildren living in the 'new (ab)normal' world ?
(anti)social distancing that could virtually kill off pubs, restaurants, sport meetings etc,our kids sat in boxes at schools, stood in their own playground circle, travel restricted to long drawn out checks while wearing useless mask on hours long journeys?
We are by nature a social animal, take away socialising and we might as well be robots.
Forced vaccinations or loss of all freedom to work ,travel etc
It's thanks but no thanks Mr Gates(who voted this evil arsehole king of the world?)from me.

There are various schemes for claiming for industrial disease, such as the Coal Industry Pneumoconiosis Scheme, and if ex- colliers have claimed through that there’s no recourse through the courts..which makes sense. My Grandfather’s brother had it, but he was a coal trimmer in the docks..

The family should be ok if the miner in question has been granted compensation even though a payment hasn't yet been made. Same thing happened to my dad. His compo came to me as part of his estate. Took him years to get it and it arrived two weeks after his death.

Sadly a very true story,my mum had her dad's compensation, as his widow died only three weeks before it arrived, and my mum was his only child,as you say, took many years to get it,and way too late for my grandad or his widow to enjoy it :sad7: :old: :bluebird:

Well known fact that the bastards delay and delay hoping there will be no family left to claim so it can go back into the coffers.

Told this years ago by someone involved in numerous cases.

IMO without doubt that is true.
