Is there not a time lag for collating numbers after the weekend?

Hopefully though this is the definite number and the beginnings of a drastic fall

Lowest Sunday total since the 75 announced on 23rd March. There is a reporting lag following the weekend but if you compare it with the equivalent day of the previous week then the trend has been consistently downward for about 6 weeks. Looking at other countries it does seem difficult to get it to absolute zero though. That will take time particularly given that opening back up may result in a new infection rise.

Absolutely. Relaxing lockdown measures is likely to encourage social mobility and as a result the likelihood of increased infection.

Fair play to you Annis, you post the positives as well as the negatives and you always have mate.
I agree, even allowing for the bank holiday dip, 77 (accepting that every one is a sad loss) has to be good news.

But we have to open up somehow, the country cant afford to pay the wages of the workforce while not collecting tax either. Tomorrow I will have got up to 5 out of my 7 men back working. I dread to think what the unemployment figures would have been looking like without the Governments Furlough scheme. I hope to manage to get by without the loan but to have paid the wages would have been painful.

...and the furlough, as financially essential as it is, hardly encourages a return for many

7 dead in Wales. 6 dead yesterday.

In a country of 3.5 million.

Where's Drakeford at the moment?

Still sitting on his hands waiting to hear what Sturgeon has to say or simply determined to continue keeping Wales at home and the economy in ruins for as long as possible?

His silence is a damning indictment of his and The Welsh Assembleys utter incompetence.

Spoke to someone today who owns several pubs here and he says will not be opening when allowed to as costs be more than income because only 10 people allowed in pub that normally as 30+ at anyone time.... restaurant will have to have booking times but again due to only having minimal diners allowed cannot adequately fit enough in opening times to pay ! This is going to be a recurring theme and expect lots of closures after short period as businesses wont be viable

Andrew,

Cheers :thumbright:

This is what some never Admit, I try to be fair and honest and down the middle and see everything from both sides :thumbright:

Now I know why you called me andrew Annis, it's the" 62 crew" :laughing5: in truth though Annis for some (myself at times) it looked as if us in Wales, we were getting tarred with the same brush,as the hoardes of people in england who were flouting the rules,as it was just as hard for those of us who stayed home and did as asked by bungle & Co to watch.perhaps we here should have posted some pics of what it was like in Wales, and distanced ourselves fom what was happening in england, rather than falling out with a fellow bluebird  let's all hope the figures continue to slide downwards, and we can all breathe again, and resume some kind of normal lives. In no way am I saying we didn't have our share of idiots,as we did,but in the main, wales has done well as a nation,in trying to adhere to only the necessary trips for food, and excersise once a day, until told otherwise,a shame it weren't the same across the border! But can see it slowly slipping,as thever weather is on the up too, let's hope the announcement on Thursday is a good one for us welsh  :old: :bluebird: :bluebird:
