Poll. Should borris and Cummings go?

Sun May 24, 2020 4:15 pm

I personally think we be better off without both now.

Re: Poll. Should borris and Cummings go?

Both should go. Boris for backing a senior advisor for flouting the rules, and he himself for showing ZERO backbone and leadership decision making

Boris can't work without his mate Dom - There is the answer ;)

Totally agree with you too cat. It says how much Cummings controls borris in my eyes.
If he had got rid of him I’d have respected that.

What part of democracy don't you understand. Boris Johnson was elected to lead this country with a huge majority less than 6 months ago. Now you want him thrown out cause an advisor broke the rules on lockdown. Well save your cross, in four and half years you'll get another chance to have the leader you want. That's democracy.

Re: Poll. Should borris and Cummings go?

Sun May 24, 2020 5:49 pm

That's correct. But the advisor can be sacked. Does Boris owe him so much for his cunning in delivering brexit and an election victory over nobody or does the delightful Dom who has never showed anything other than contempt for the prole masses have something on BJ?

Democracy is what I believe and have faith in BUT cannot accept it's abuse. This tool drove with Covid to give his mother a birthday present. Our elected leader must have known he went.

Re: Poll. Should borris and Cummings go?

Sun May 24, 2020 6:55 pm

Maybe not? Super Dom (spent alot of time in Russia) does what he likes. No need to bother BJ over such tivia?!

There's no rational person in the country that would take someone very likely infected with this dreadful disease to their elderly parents. Particularly given they had an elderly relative dying with the disease at that time. That said this is completely Boris Johnson 's call. We elected Boris Johnson, if we don't like what he does we vote him out. That's democracy

For crying out loud what a nonsensical poll.

These are totally unprecedented times.

Mistakes will be made.

Allowances should be made.

There are so many hypocrites living in glass houses.

Nobody is perfect.

That new Labour leader is really as gormless as he looks.

Our PM is magnificent.

(BTW the Welsh First minister is an embarrassment as is the Welsh Assembly.)

What magnificent things has Boris done over the past few weeks?

I am no fan of the Prime Minister and am well aware of what a disgrace he is.

But now is not the time to replace him.

Cummings has to go though.

Good point mate. I hate all this sh#t stirring. Massive distraction from the important issues.

I suggest you read the guide again.Where does it say you can drive 200 miles to make arrangements with vulnerable grand parents !?

This is not excusable, end of.

Johnson is being found out. Bluster, funny remarks and Latin quotes will only get you so far as prime minister. Nothing statesmanlike about him. Cummings did wrong, Johnson has made a very bad judgement call and has put himself in a hole. Drakeford is looking after the lives of Welsh citizens in a sensible and responsible manner. Glad we have different rules in Wales.

Just him being in no 10 instead of either Corbyn or Starmer is enough.

I try not to get involved with the politics threads on here, because its a Cardiff City football forum but i read some of the stuff and thought I had to add my view. I have no political allegiances i have voted for all three major parties. I tend to look at the situation the country and I are in and vote with my conscience.

Boris was the right guy for the next 18 months as this was supposed to be the Brexit era and we needed his bluster and BS to get through it. He is probably the worse person for a serious event like a pandemic. Not that I am saying Starmer would be any better, he looks good in a suit, talks well but manages to say nothing, the Blair era ended he is just a throwback as labour are always looking backwards rather than forwards. Sturgeon like Drakeford own their own NHS disaster but somehow that's a UK problem when the chips are down. Big questions in the merit of devolution or how its managed when the dust settles.

Cummings is the liberal lefts media bogey man, the dopey British (minus Scotland) public didn't do what they told you to do during Brexit and he must have cheated because they are so superior with their 2:1's from minor universities. He is weird and doesn't play their game because he understands its rigged.
He is also disliked by the ERG because their influence suddenly dwindled with Boris's massive victory only 5 months ago spearheaded by........Cummings.

This is a battle of the political classes Journalists vs the elected government....Who really decides what happens. They are still smarting from Brexit and the Tory landslide, this is their counter attack.

Western governments were woefully underprepared for this pandemic and have made mistakes left right and centre on big humanitarian scales. This incident is so pitifully insignificant something else is about....Nobody died, were hurt or lost money.

Cummings will need to resign because the media are going to bore the county senseless with endless hours of commentary, they are determined to get him, they want their pound of flesh. They have lost absolute control because social media has destroyed their old world. Cummings knew and exploited it. But, this is old school lynching, nothing like a bit of revenge. There isn't an election for another fours years so he can take a sabbatical.

He shouldn’t have to resign but faced with the left wing media etc I’d be surprised but saddened if he did and hope he doesn’t.

There are far more important issues out there, not least when to get London and our economy up and running again; the rest of the country can wait if needs be but it’s essential something happens very soon in the smoke.

Re: Poll. Should borris and Cummings go?

Cummings should have gone as soon as news broke! He should have admitted a error of judgement and resigned..... now we got idiot police commissioner saying police should waste hours of police time to study days of camera footage to see if travelled another time..... and other idiots doing all sorts breaking distancing rules! The police cannot do anything once someone arrives at a destination as we know here in wales. But this is typical politicians response man the barricades block the ears and deny everything... :old:

It's not really about both though, is it? :?

Daft 'poll' to include more than one person...

Boris has a moral dilemma (defending the man who engineered the policies that got him into office) of course, but Cummings alone is responsible for his own actions on this occasion ;)

Re: Poll. Should borris and Cummings go?

Dominic Cummings: I never offered my resignation to Boris Johnson

"I have not offered to resign. I did not consider it," Mr Cummings says.

"I think it's reasonable to say that other people would have behaved differently in this situation, but as I stress, I was trying to balance lots of competing things."

Re: Poll. Should borris and Cummings go?

Mon May 25, 2020 4:39 pm

So he's not resigning, Boris isn't going to sack him so that's then. The poll that mattered was on the 12th December 19. You get the chance to vote for an alternative after 2 European championships and one World Cup. We'll have left the European union and I pray COVID 19 is a distant memory having claimed very few more lives.

Hard to see how anyone who’s listened to his press conference - unless they’ve got alternative motivation- cannot have a degree of empathy for his situation
