WARNOCK DEPARTURE FROM CARDIFF WAS 'TOUGH'

Sky Sports:

Cardiff defender Sol Bamba has admitted it was tough to contend with the departure of boss Neil Warnock, who left the club earlier this season.

Warnock had left Cardiff into the Premier League, although they lasted just one campaign before being relegated back to the Championship last summer.

"Personally it was very tough to take because, aside from football, he was a great father figure in terms of my family and what to do with money," Bamba told Sky Sports in the latest 'At home with...' episode. "He was more than a manager to me.

"I was very sad to see him go but at the same time, he's been in the game long enough to know that if the results didn't follow, he'd have to make a decision or the owner would make the decision for him. He was ready for it. He took the team as far as he could and decided to step away but it hit me hard and it took a couple of weeks to recover from it, if I'm honest."
