Three players Cardiff City must not lose for free this summer

CARDIFF CITY HAVE SOME DECISIONS TO MAKE ON PLAYERS WHO ARE OUT OF CONTRACT THIS SUMMER. hERE ARE THREE PLAYERS THEY NEED TO KEEP HOLD OF-

Danny Ward- The forward’s current deal with Neil Harris’ side expires at the end of next month but they should offer him a new one. The 28 year old has scored six goals in 25 appearances for the Bluebirds in all competitions this season.

The ex-Huddersfield Town and Rotherham United man offers the Welsh side more depth and options in attack and losing him for nothing this summer, potentially to a Championship rival, would be a big blow.

Jazz Richards- He is currently in his fourth season at the Cardiff City Stadium but faces a patient wait over his future at the club. The Wales international helped them gain promotion to the Premier League under Neil Warnock two seasons ago.

Richards still has a good few years left in him and provides some decent competition for places in their defensive department, as well as injecting some much needed experience into their ranks.

Aaron Bolger- Losing the youngster for free next month would be a shame for Cardiff and they should tie him down on a longer contract. The Irish midfielder joined the club from Shamrock Rovers whilst they were in the top flight and could still have a bright future ahead of him.

Perhaps the Bluebirds should loan him out next season to gain some first-team experience and then decide what to do with him next year.

Will Cardiff keep Danny Ward?

He still has a future there

That’s assuming Danny Ward would be happy with a 1-year contract at the peak of his career. Normally, I’d guess not, but maybe under current circumstances it would see him through until aged 29 ahead of a 3 year contract elsewhere.

Jazz Richards has surely got to be released, despite his obvious ability. Far too injury prone.

As for Bolger, I don’t know much about him and I’ve never seen him play. However, a lot would depend on his age and how near he is to breaking first team. If he’s 23 plus and still not made it, statistically he’s unlikely to be setting the league alight anytime soon, although there are a few examples of players who have made it at a more advanced age. I just don’t think we can financially justify having a big squad in the current climate and sacrifices need to be made.

Due to financial restraints caused by the COVID-19 crisis I doubt we will be offering new contracts to anyone.

2 out of 3 yea lol Bolger looks promising and wouldn't cost a fortune spo yes keep him , WARD is a natural goal scorer something we don't have much at Cardiff

Fair play to Harris he gave Jaz so much football time and proved he is not good enough and clearly injury prone so no thanks

Taxi for Richards and Ward but got to keep hold of any half decent youngsters.

Having been reminded how good Jazz can be - his performances in the Euro 2016 campaign were excellent - Jazz has obviously got the ability to play regular and be a first choice attacking full back.
Only he and the club know what his fitness problems are.

Like everyone else we will be cutting back, two injury prone squad players out of contract is great news for us to release the.

Not sure about the other lad, seen nothing of him but doubt on a big wage.
