In all my 59 years on this planet I have never seen such a shambles.These clowns who call themselves a government have allowed us to become a laughing stock.The last few months have witnessed a complete breakdown of effective governance.At the head a privileged buffoon who has bluffed and blustered his way into plumb jobs throughout his career with the help of the old school tie and his equally incompetent sponsors.I believe he has met his Waterloo.History will not be kind to this fool.His inaction has cost lives;equally the lost weeks 6 weeks of February and early March will cost hundred of thousands of jobs leading to untold misery and suffering.I have never been a member of any political party but I truly believe the Tory Government have blood on their hands.

Likewise I am not a member of any political party. This government like that in most countries has made mistakes, concentrating on the NHS whilst taking its eye off the ball in the care sector being by far its biggest and perhaps most unforgivable.

But the only reason we are a "laughing stock" is because certain people in this country are trying to make political capital out of a crises. The most glaring example is insisting we have the worst death rate in Europe without taking into account the fact we have the second highest population and that population is much more concentrated than in such countries as France. Per capita we have faired far better off than Spain and Belgium and we are roughly in line with France and Italy. And this despite the fact that our lockdown has been less restrictive. Or do you really want to live in a country where you have to fill in a permit to go to Tescos?

People have very short memories and point to the fact that Italy, Spain and France locked down earlier than us. That is true, but that was because the virus got there first. We locked down at similar stages as they did. When Italy locked down I believe no one had died in the UK. Can you imagine the outcry if we had followed suit then?

Its easy to be wise after the event, but the truth is no one could have could have forseen this and all governments have beeb playing catch up. If any one is to blame its China. Not because the virus started there but because they clearly understated the death rate and lulled every one else into a less vigilant state of mind.

Although I believe it way to early to make a final judgement either way I believe that years away. However so far I would say broadly speaking we doing ok. The nhs still has capacity the nightingale hospitals have hardly been used. That’s a good thing in my opinion. The Ppe issue we’ll that wasn’t exclusive to us everywhere else had the same issue. So far so good considering.

I do believe we’ve relaxed things a little to early and there be a second wave but I think that going to happen in most places, I so hope I’m wrong on this.

I think we should be proud of the vast majority of this country.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, no one was saying we should go into lockdown in February, and if we had brought on Ramsey earlier we might have won the FA Cup!

I'm not sure the OP was suggesting hindsight. Lockdown was not the agenda in February but the weakness of lockdown and its current state of partial lockdown despite the billions of £s thrown at it on appeasement is a shambles. As is the state of the opposition, as referred to by OP.


If Ramsey had come on earlier we could very well have won.

stricter lockdowns have worked so well else where haven't they ?.
well maybe they didn't but we should still have anyway.

No one was, the World was a different place, people are being wise with hindsight.
