Police 'fighting losing battle' over lockdown as 'hundreds' gather for picnics in east London sunshine

Police say they are "fighting a losing battle" over enforcing the lockdown after "hundreds" turned out in parks across east London to enjoy picnics in the sunshine.
Officers in Hackney said groups were gathering in the borough's parks to have "pizzas, beers, wines", despite social distancing rules and calls from the Government for people to stay at home this weekend .
It comes after the Coastguard said that Friday had been its busiest day since lockdown began , with 97 call-outs, compared to the average for April of 63.
Boris Johnson is due to outline potential changes to the lockdown rules on Sunday, but has insisted any alterations will be "limited".

So when do you then? When there is no more infection? Not going to happen without a vaccine. When there are no more deaths? Not going to happen without a vaccine. A vaccine is a year away and even when we get one it will not necessarily be that effective.
This country is simply gripped with Coronaphobia and fear. This is understandable but a lot of it is utterly irrational too. We can't hide from the virus forever. We have to accept an element of risk and gradually restart the economy. Furlough can not go on forever either. Every day we are in lockdown we are destroying more businesses and causes indirect deaths through other health conditions.
The government have been an absolute shambles throughout this crisis but on trying to get the economy going again, I agree.

It really depends on who was surveyed during the poll, for example:
1 you are furlough and can live on 80% until end of June and enjoy the sun - yes keep the lockdown
2 you are redundant or have no government support, you can't pay your bills or feed you family - no I need to work to live
Poll are nonsense as they do not take into account how the lockdown has affected different parts of society.

Someone should have told Boris!! So he goes with the minority,the man oozes incompetence imho,and his weak arse cabinet are no better,bumbling their way through every day,it makes no sense to have "zones" doing things differently surely?? Either everyone has relaxation lockdown,or nobody does??

Spot on, if you pay peoples wages for staying at home and watching Netflix, why would they vote for that to end?
66.65 Million with 32,000 deaths so far account for 0.0004% of the population 80% of those over 75 with serious health conditions.
We need to bubble wrap and protect the over 75's with health conditions.
