Queens Park Rangers fans have discussed which player from the past five seasons they’d bring back, and Alex Smithies emerged as the unanimous winner.




The goalkeeping position has been a problematic one for Mark Warburton this season – he’s chopped and changed between Joe Lumley and Liam Kelly, before settling with the latter.

Kelly has progressed in his fist season with the club, but he’s a way to go before he emulates Smithies’ stint in goal for QPR.




QPR SOLD ALEX SMITHIES TO CARDIFF CITY IN THE 2018/19 SEASON.


The Cardiff man spent two-and-a-half seasons at QPR before leaving for South Wales in 2018. He played 109 games for the club and played every minute of the 2016/17 season, establishing himself as one of the league’s best in the process.


It was his name that came up by far the most when QPR fans were debating who they’d bring back from the past five seasons, with mentions also going to Clint Hill, Nedum Onuoha, and Seb Polter to name a few.

Fantastic keeper who is massively underrated by our fans.

Much better all round keeper than Etheridge who is just a shot stopper, and recently not even very good at that.

If you read the stats his distribution is worse. They are the stats and not made up
