Why is everything about her ?

I will not do this
I will not do that
I will make the decision
Me me me
Awful attitude and tone

She should be working with the government and the whole United kingdom as a team rather than opposing them at every turn and saying she will defy the orders of the Prime minister

Mark Drayford stated the other day that welsh schools wouldn’t open until June at the earliest regardless of what Downing Street stated, I believe she’s doing the right thing for the safety and well-being of our children and school staff with her stance, she’s doing her job as Education Minister which would come across as “I will not do this” - context “As Education Minister I will notdo this” - whilst Mark Drayford does his job as 1st Minister...(think that makes sense lol)

She just sounds very obstructive , her tone comes across as she doesnt care what the government says she as she will do what she wants.
They need to work together or this exit strategy will go horribly wrong
I do agree June 1st is too early though

We Jimmy Kranke started it, and they are all trying to copy and beat the government to announcements, all attention-seeking idiots trying to make themselves seem more important, when can we have a vote to get rid of the welsh parliament they are an embarrassment!

It was her celebration with the 'we did it first' when cancelling all exams that wound me up. There was no trying to find a solution. Simply put the rest of the education system in a horrible position.

As said above. We should be working together. Not political point scoring.

There certainly seems to be no attempt at co-ordinating any policy between the four separate nations and it does seem as if Wales and Scotland are trying to act differently from England on purpose in order to show that as devolved parliaments they can and will do things differently even if it's just for the sake of it.

That’s how I see it too mate. Think of the bigger picture rather than your own ego you clowns!!

Stupid dumb bitch I know plenty who really need to get back to work but can’t as kids are home, for no reason really either. After all, plenty of kids of key workers in the hubs and guess what, no virus spreading at all.....
They’ve got another 6 weeks off mid July ffs....and they need to see their mates too.

Year 6 primary could start about then though couldn’t it? The rest are fine to have staggered smaller classes from mid June onwards. It’s only a few weeks then until another 6 weeks off. People are getting into financial trouble due to schools remaining shut in Cardiff and what for? 100 deaths in the county of 700,000..... :banghead:

Perhaps the school summer holidays could be postponed for a month or so to enable the kids to catch up on the work they've missed?

I'm sure the teachers wouldn't mind doing that if it helps with the kid's education?

I agree you should not be able to take kids out of school during term. People take the piss but they should allow for 1 week only to be taken with family for holiday which can be coupled with a it of learning about the country / area you are visiting. Any more this that should get the fine

Will schools be able to maintain social distancing measures?

How will the Government implement social distancing rules in education settings, asks a member of the public, who pointed out that children of primary school age and younger will find it hard to keep to the rules.

Shapp says the Goverment is working out the best ways to bring back schools when that happens. While Prof Van-Tam replies:

"Young children do find it difficult to keep rules, any kind of touching or distancing rules, and that's an accepted fact. We've all encountered young children and we completely understand that.

"What I can say is that whatever the prime minister announces that we will do next, it is going to be extremely cautious and extremely careful and extremely painstaking.

"And it has to take into account the kind of factors that have been mentioned in the question, and indeed that advice and that policy will do that. But it's caution all the way really."

Shapps adds: "That's absolutely right... Extreme caution is actually the watchword on this. And we've seen in other countries where second, not quite spikes have come along, but where social distancing has been relaxed and there's been problems, so we will wait to see."
