France has now confirmed that Covid-19 hit the country by 27

Wed May 06, 2020 7:32 pm

France has now confirmed that Covid-19 hit the country by 27th December 2019. They revisited tests taken on 24 people who had to be admitted to hospital with respiratory difficulties which were found negative for flu or other coronaviruses. They weren't looking for Covid-19 at the time.
People in the UK who said they may have had it around Xmas because they had 'flu symptoms' they couldn't shift may have been right.

Sounds like this has been around for months but it somehow mutated in March making the strain stronger.

Let's hope it doesnt mutate again

I was ill with a flu type condition beginning of December, I bet its been around for months before they started testing ,it makes all the figures out there void and is worrying how far its really spread

My wife and I were discussing this previously, I was ill for virtually the whole of January but because my cough wasn't particularly dry we dismissed it.

That's why the anti-body test is most important. Of course it's probably just coincidence for many that it started during the peak respiratory disease time of the year but there could be some that have had it already and lessons could be learnt from them.
