What was the passenger expecting ? I know I'll book onto an internal UK flight and i'll be the only guy on it ?

I don't get this middle seat thing when the guys behind you's knee is tickling your back !!!! You can't socially distance in a plane and the airport is going to be very very difficult to impossible in the major hubs.

I don't know what the answer is, except don't fly unless you have to. There are alternative ways to travel between Belfast and London.

Aer Lingus 'reviewing procedures' after packed Belfast-London flight

Aer Lingus says it is reviewing procedures on its Belfast to London flights following a claim it was not observing social distancing.

Passenger Sean Mallon took photos on a flight to Heathrow on Monday, showing most passengers sitting close together.

He told the BBC that about 95% of seats were filled, and said passengers queued and boarded the plane just as they would have before the pandemic.

Mallon, who was travelling to England for work, said staff did not offer any guidance or advice other than telling passengers to wash their hands after landing - and no hand sanitiser was offered.

It is one of only two routes flying from Northern Ireland to London.

Aer Lingus said safety was its "top priority" and any necessary changes would be implemented urgently.

Aer Lingus said “safety is a priority” on our flights??

It’s impossible to social distance on aeroplanes, tube, buses, trains etc

So either you give people the option to travel given the risks or all public transport is suspended

You can’t have it both ways

One of the managers from Heathrow pointed out yesterday that the queue to board a jumbo jet with social distancing would be a kilometre long. It’s going to be a long time before I even think about going on a flight.

It's just insane. Rules applied in some environments and completely disregarded in others.
The flight was not cancelled so aerlingus can't really be blamed. Have airlines been told to cancel internal UK flights?
The passengers themselves must have been desperate to travel. Surely it was obvious how full the flight was going to be from the queue inside at the gate but still looks like they all got on. I wouldn't have.
Its the same as BandQ. Can blame the public for going but it's much easier for the authorities to have a word with BandQ and tell them not to.

Only only the biggest of planes. Majority of planes circa 100 seats so 200m and that's if everyone joins queue at same time.

Exactly it's an aluminium tube with recycled air if you want to get some covid-19 resistance and catch the virus, just book a flight

anyone that's ever flown knows how it goes...queues...confined on the plane followed by more queues... to take a picture was pathetic... and yes mate social distancing rules are going to be when possible...in fact have been from start..

Aer Lingus adds extra flight after social distancing criticism

Aer Lingus has announced it will put on an additional flight between Belfast and London Heathrow following criticism over a lack of social distancing on the service yesterday.

The airline has also advised all customers due to travel on the route to give themselves additional time to check in, as changes to the boarding procedure will be introduced and more luggage will be checked into the hold.

"In order to reduce the operational pressure involved in implementing these measures, Aer Lingus is putting on an additional flight frequency on each day of operation of the service," said the airline.

"The two services will depart at 0845 and 0945 on each day of operation. It is expected that this additional frequency will result in reduced loads on each flight."

Not sure why all these people need essential travel but no different to getting on a packed train or bus.

Why is there all the discussion about if and when football will be played again? Following this logic, there seems no point in it having been interrupted.
