Football needs a way to survive

Sat May 02, 2020 5:48 pm

The devastation of Covid-19 will have far reaching and long term consequences and football is not immune. Football clubs, most of whom are bailed out on a weekly basis by wealthy owners, who themselves have taken massive hits on their estates, will need to find a way to survive.

Most of us passionately support the Bluebirds in the same way as other fans support their clubs up and down the UK. This virus is not going away and things will not return to normal for many months. Football cannot be sustained as we know it within this current climate unless there is a way of continuing fixtures.

I fear this pandemic will only leave the biggest of clubs remaining, obliterating many teams below the prem.

This is the most easiest question to answer.

How you implement the answer is tge hardest one.

Im guessing that every club from championship down to League 1 and 2 goes into administration for the start of the season and gives players new contracts?

and when it comes to the better players half a dozen clubs will compete for their signatures. possibly offering even more money than their current contracts. then the next group think if he is worth x amount I must be worth x-5k and on it goes...its the nature of sport/football at all levels and has always existed..
