Benidorm’s Spain To See The Opening Of The Peter Whittingham Bar As Bluebird Fans Remember Their Legend

Bluebird Cardiff City fans Dai Lewis & Paul Evans who now reside in Benidorm these days were distraught when they heard of the sad death of their hero footballer Peter Whittingham.

Whittingham who was one if not the most gifted players to ever pull on a Cardiff City shirt played for the club for over ten years and was always a fans favourite to millions of Cardiff City fans around the world but unfortunately recently took a nasty fall and passed away with head injuries.

The two Benidorm based City fans, Lewis & Evans are now planning to open the first “Whitts bar” in Benidorm ready for the summer season and fill it with memories of their favourite ever player, including some strange features explained Dai Lewis:

” we are going to name the bar after our hero and fill it with shirts and photo’s of the great man and player that he was so any City fan on holiday in Benidorm can come and saviour, although as well as this everything is going to be left sided, doors will open to the left, the bar will be to the left, everything we can install will go to the left in memory of his wand of a left foot, which was truly magic, we’ve already turned down two locations as they couldn’t be with the to the left model but we have several that can in mind, we hope to be open in time for the Summer season and so City fans can come and pay their respects over a nice cool pint and view all the tributes we will have on the walls”

Joint owner Paul Evans told RTN ” We can’t wait to get open, I have to fly back as soon as I can to Grangetown in Cardiff to collect loads of stuff from Nan’s – I’ve got stacks of Whitts gear that I have collected over the years and it will be plastered all over the walls, other fans have pledged contributions too which I need to collect, we can’t wait to get open and honour the great player Whitt’s was, hopefully we will be the first bar in the world to be called the Whitts bar”

The RTN called Annis Abraham a huge Cardiff City fan in Mallorca for his views and the former night club and property developer as well as book author shared his delight at the news:

“I think it’s a fantastic idea and way to pay respect to one of our footballing City gods, I will attend the opening night with my 3 daughters who all worshiped Peter and I wish great success to Dai And Paul” said Abraham

I hope the guys concerned have contacted Peter’s family and asked for their thoughts on this as considering he died in a bar, it maybe a bit insensitive, so close to his death. I think it’s a great idea in time but perhaps not now.

I thought the same it’s a tribute and something to be proud of .

I don’t know these two people who are opening it, not got a clue who they are,but if a bar was named after your relative after they’ve died, I would expect them to be proud.

Agree. Hopefully his nearest and dearest will see this as a confirmation of the love and admiration held for one of our greats
