Bad weather needed

Sat Apr 25, 2020 6:09 pm

To assist with social distancing AND keep the selfish home to reduce the spread of this dreadful killer, we need some typical UK weather to be a bad as it can be.

Torrential rain and downpours will put a swift end to the idiots wandering around doing non essential jogging, cycling, dog walking, etc.

20,000 and counting!!

Stay home. Stay alive.

These posts are getting willing by the day... Must admit not a big time poster, but regular reader. Sadly the constant hysteria on here has destroyed the board.
Some of you need to look up and take in the bigger longer term picture, to understand what the government is trying to do.

The headline number is scarey, yes, but if you look beyond that you will see that constant and toughened lockdowns will cause more damage

Also... Why not have a Coronvirus Negative post and just add to that, rather than 20 new topics a day

Nothing like 20,000 deaths (probably half of the true figure) from an,as yet, incurable pandemic to drum up a bit of unnecessary hysteria. Sorry.

The point is, is there a need for constant topics on the same thing? If ppl don't understand the narrative of stay home by now they never will. Those that want to stay locked home are free to do so, those that want to get on with some sort of life inline with guidelines and common sense can do so.
What shoudl be clear, is a mass locked down for the vast majority fo the population, is not sustainable. Sadly we have to learn to live with it, like 100:s of other risks

Going to be 90 here today and 95 midweek, way too early even by California standards.

Well said, this board is becoming so negative its unbelievable, you'll always get people who don't take advice no matter what the situation. Look after your families take the advice and get on with your lives.

Thought a spell on normal rainy weather would persuade some to stay indoors. It's arrived.

Didn't really think it through. Can't go out into my garden now...

I don't see a major problem with a sensible walk if people are keeping 2 metres apart or a bike ride in the Sun, it's good for peoples mental health it makes people happy.

My fear is if the weather turns, people will get bored as they can't go out for a walk or sunbathe in the garden, and may instead go shopping or meet up in each other's houses?

We need at least another two weeks of people being careful and avoiding contact with people outside their own lockdown family, we've done well so far in bringing the numbers down and regaining some control, let's not blow it now!
