Interesting to see so many fans at the game, people smoking in the stands, plus no replica shirts and less elaborate goal celebrations from players and fans alike.
I’m obviously missing football because I was on the edge of my seat watching that, hoping Merthyr would win.
There’s a Netflix Series called “The English Game” based on a true story of 2 Scottish men regarded as pioneers of the game, that gives a good account of football and life in general in the late 1800’s. It’s crazy how much it’s changed. Only 6 episodes long.
