NEWCASTLE TAKEOVER NEARING COMPLETION

Contracts between Mike Ashley and the Saudi-backed consortium buying Newcastle United have been exchanged and a deposit has been paid, Sky Sports understands.
The contracts are binding, meaning the only aspect of the deal left to complete is the Premier League’s Owners and Directors test. Once this is completed, the remainder of the £300m will be forwarded to Mike Ashley.
The Premier League are now reviewing the documents. It’s not known how long that process will take, but the deal could be concluded as early as the end of the month.
