The Premier League players Cardiff City and Swansea City could sign for nothing this summer
Tuesday 21st April 2020
Chelsea, Everton, Burnley and Newcastle United are among the top flight clubs who will see a number of players depart this summer
While it is not clear exactly when the summer transfer window will take place, there will certainly be a lot of activity taking place during the market.
With the financial implications of the coronavirus crisis being felt across the world of sport, free agents could become even more appealing for Premier League clubs.
Funds remain tight at both Cardiff City and Swansea City, with neither spending vast sums in the second tier as they continue to adjust to the significant drop in revenues after falling out of English football's top division.
And with the Championship also set to feel the pinch of the pandemic, they may well look to pinch stars leaving top flight sides in the next transfer window.
The wages of many of these stars will instantly rule them out as realistic Cardiff or Swansea signings, but there could be scope in some situations.
Plenty of players are approaching the end of their contracts and, while FIFA is planning to introduce guidance to extend the contracts until the end of the season beyond the usual June 30 expiration date, many will be on the hunt for a new employer.
Here's our definitive list of which top flight men will become available.
