Cancelled holidays

Tue Apr 21, 2020 8:46 am

Booked two holidays for this year with a company called love holidays
First holiday paid for should have been going to Gran Canaria this Thursday we have had notification from Ryan air flight cancelled and they have offered a refund on flight love holiday saying we must take the remainder of money owed for hotel transfers etc to us as a credit note
Second holiday booked paying in instalments for Rome in June for the euros no notification from easy jet about flight status and love holidays still taking monthly instalments I have two more monthly payments to make of £277 each am I right in saying that if I don’t make instalments they can keep all of the money I’ve paid so far ???
And going back to first holiday do I have to accept a credit note I would prefer my money back with all the uncertainty surrounding future travel
Any advice gratefully received ;)

This is a tricky situation to be in unfortunately

I could be wrong but I think that the money for your flights with Ryanair and EasyJet will be refunded. They will probably try to get you to rebook another flight but my understanding is that yes you can request and will get a full refund providing the flight was cancelled by the airlines

However, the hotels and transfers with love holiday are a different matter. You can certainly ask for a refund but might not get it. You will be offered a booking credit to book another holiday in the future, but unfortunately will the company still be around in the future to honour the booking?? Even more of a problem for you is if you don’t pay the remaining balance on your Rome holiday they may treat that as you cancelling the trip and will almost certainly refuse a refund or credit note.

You need to contact them ASAP to discuss your options further. Also get in touch with your travel insurance company to see if they can help

Good luck hope it all works out for you and you get all your money back
