Sweden, Iceland, S. Korea and Taiwan haven't shut their countries down but have maintained lower infection and death levels than most countries.
There is nothing wrong with wanting an alternative approach, especially when it has been successfully elsewhere.

But this point is that this is in the US where the death rate is pretty high and continuing so the approach in the US needs to be more stringent not less![]()
Are people seriously believing that relaxing the restrictions in the US right now would improve the death rate![]()

What the thick s*^%s don't recognise is that it's not just about them catching it, it's about the chance that they could transfer it to somebody elderly or vulnerable. How would they feel if they were allowed to go back to work, then transferred the virus to their family and one or more of them got seriously ill. Is that OK ?
They keep on about their civil rights but what the civil rights of those who they might be putting at risk ?
Quite telling that there have been no such mass demonstrations anywhere else in the world; the same administration that denounces climate change, blames everything on WHO and concentrates all it's efforts on re-opening the economy whilst it's population are dying in huge numbers and central government has left the individual states to look after themselves.
Anyone in any doubt as to how serious this is, watch the attached and then tell me who you would believe; Trump or the Governor of New York !?

Yes but they are behind us in the timing of the pandemic.
I'm not defending the UK handling, what I'm saying is that the people in the US asking for the lockdown are risking exposing many thousands of vulnerable people to serious illness, where is the logic or science behind that ?
There are pockets of the US, e.g. New York, that have a very high death rate. If lockdown is eased too early and inter-state travel increases you don't need to be a scientist to work out the likely impact !!!!
