A forum for all things Cardiff City
Sun Apr 19, 2020 11:57 pm
A good friend of mine posted this the other day, one of the darkest days in Cardiff City’s history.
Do any of you remember it?
Me personally:
I was travelling back from Upton Park on the coach after watching City lose the play offs.
I saw it posted on here and said it was utter bullshit, I really wish it had been.
None of us believed it.
I found out later3 people who I had known for years already knew and knew for ages before any of us.
I now don’t speak to 2 of them and never have since as they then led it all.
TLG aka David Sugarman:
Cardiff City will play in red next season
So who was it that broke the news on this message board back in 2012?
Wasn't it their one and only post?
Who else on here knew before that message was posted?
What were your first thoughts on reading that post? My thoughts were someone was on a massive windup. That's never going to happen in a million years.
Yes
Last but not least, does that original thread still exist?

Another tiny part of our illustrious history Annis.
Hope you are keeping well

I’ve never watched City again since and there are thousands like me.
I don’t care if Mystic Meg told Tan to change the colours back the scares are too deep for me to forgive him.
I look forward to the day he sells up and I can wipe his name from my memory

Annis,we all still went to games and it didn't feel completely right. I cringe now when I see the promotion celebrations, win again man city etc
Thomas, We did and never enjoyed , I walked out of the stadium 20 mins from the end the night we were promoted, I could not celebrate in that despicable red

I was not on any of the busses but went to say goodbye to one or two I knew. I asked the question if anyone thought Tan would now invest in the team to push us forward for next season. I was told there was going to be an anouncement that will take your mind off next seasons squad. They were right.
Forward one season and the first game of the next season we were back at Upton Park. I recall a group started signing "we will always be Blue" only to get booed by most of us there. For me that was the lowest point of supporting Cardiff.
I don't think the bad feeling will ever go from me. My comfort is that I know I am not alone. One of the main stay away guys asked me if it was a great experience being there to see us get promoted. My answer then and today is I was there and I leave it at that.

Ian,
Terrible times, it was 10 of us singing we will always be be Blue, and was booed by the RED BRIGRADE , really hurt us and so called friends have never spoken since.
Over the months families picked on for wearing Blue
