Groceries for the vulnerable

Sat Apr 18, 2020 3:10 pm

Hi guys, I hope you are all safe and well. I am living down in Dorset but my elderly parents are in Cardiff, both are vulnerable. Last week they were given free groceries, but this week haven't had anything. Does anyone know if the first delivery was a one off? I cant open any online grocery accounts to get essentials delivered to them and they don't use the internet. If it wasn't a one off is there anything they or I need to do to register for ongoing supplies? Thanks in advance.

Hi mate.
Sorry to hear of your predicament.
Apologies but I’ve no idea re the deliveries but try a local Morrison’s as there’s more chance of a delivery from them compare to the others. This is purely based on my own experience.
Sorry but it’s the only advice I have.

Hi. I’m a newbie on here and saw the post.
There’s a great guy in Splott. Paul Gwilym who runs the Boomerang Charity. They link up with a lot of suppliers for vulnerable people. You’ll find him online or via Facebook.
Another Chef on Facebook is Royston Summersall. He’s helping provide meals from llanishen/Whitchurch area.
Also, I know Cardiff Masonic Hall has started supplying meals for ANY vulnerable people. Not sure if they’re charging but you can get hold of them on the phone or emails.
Hope some of these are of help. I’d offer but I’m not allowed out either at the moment
