we are all going to have plenty more cases as its a virus that's not going away . or at least I haven't seen anyone of any importance claiming we can eradicate it . its all about managing the amount of cases our hospitals have at one time.. and we remain quite a bit under capacity as have Germany..

Germany begins reopening shops and schools
For the first time in weeks restrictions are easing in Germany.
The country has flattened the curve of new infections and last week said the virus was tentatively under control.
Small shops, bookshops, garages and bicycle stores of any size are being allowed to open their doors, as long as they apply social distancing measures.
Schools remain largely closed but the classes about to graduate this summer will gradually resume and universities will be allowed to hold exams. All other lockdown measures will remain in place.
Germany on Monday recorded 1,775 new cases for the past day while the number of deaths linked to Covid-19 rose by 110 to 4,404, according to official figures.

Merkel: 'Clever, cautious' approach needed
German Chancellor Angela Merkel has urged the nation to remain "clever and cautious" in handling the next phase of the coronavirus epidemic.
Speaking in parliament, she said "it's not the end phase but still just the beginning. We will be with it for a long time".
She said "I know how difficult the restrictions are, it’s a challenge to democracy, it limits our democratic rights". But she said democratic transparency, such as a free press, helped to make the situation tolerable.
"It's amazing how much understanding people have shown for each other," she said. MPs frequently applauded her.

Two of my friends have received letters from their employers asking them to (volunteer) returning to work next Monday. One is a painter and another works in a factory making office furniture. Neither appears to be an essential worker which makes you wonder if there is a relaxing of lock down measures in the UK by the backdoor?
