How does administration work then?

Fri Apr 17, 2020 9:41 am

I'm guessing a few clubs will be pulling this soon. Would players have their fat contracts payed up in full?

No money to pay up contracts

An administrator is appointed to run any business that cannot pay its way. They look at all the assets of the club including players contracts.stadium, training ground etc and sell what they can to make the company solvent again.Failing to do this or find a buyer the club is wound up and whatever assets remain are divvied up with the taxman always first in line which means there's almost always very little left for the rest.Perhaps the one that sticks out the most for me is the case of the Wurzels some years ago awarding 10yr contracts to several players after they won promotion.Of course the inevitable happened and they bombed and they ultimately had to depend on these players to walk away from their water tight contracts to stay in business.

I don't understand the begrudge and envy tbh..
like a lot of people who get to the very top of their profession they are well paid... and if they were not worth the money TV companies wouldn't pay millions to show them in games.. or would sponsors pay millions to have their names on their shirts.. and yes its the players your watching , not the groundsmen, club sec, watch the grass grow or to admire the architecture...

But we are paying for the lifestyle through tickets, merchandise and tv subs. Im sure in europe their prices are cheaper. Perhaps the city would be sold out if it was 150 for a season ticket. Prem prices are over 700pound plus. There is a social storm coming and sport/entertainment and big business are going to strugle. Greedy bas... 99% of them. Why should someone have so much surplus income and yet the average person struggles.

Stay safe everyone and see you all in 12 months time sown the city 2m apart.

Ask Annis how administration works lol

That period where we tried to bring Merthyr out of administration put f*cking years on me and the administrator rejected aall offers and allowed it to go to the wall in the end

I tend to agree with you and I'm sure 99.9% of us would take it, if offered...! :thumbright: :laughing6:

The issue with Blue Lagoon's post is that he assumes that what us fans pay at the gate (on the day or via season ticket) makes a huge difference to the club's finances

Whilst it certainly helps, gate receipts are a relative drop in the ocean to many clubs and my understanding is that ours is in that category, i.e. more reliant on other sources of income, including our rather rich benefactor

It beggars belief that any City supporter (although the aforementioned one is renowned) would feel they are somehow being short-changed with the season ticket prices at the CCS

£13 per game in the cheaper areas (less for children, students and Seniors) including one of those in the Premier League; but he wants it down to £6.50 plus his customary want for 'free' cup games included in that ;)

Im happy Swen that you are so flush with money. Cardiff area now seeing a massive up take in food banks. How people stick up for these big corps/ clubs makes me sick.

If the gate money is a drop in the ocean like you say then yes, why not let it work out 5 pound a game and sell out the staduim, and give free cup game tickets. Reason being fuc.... greedy bas... players and agents and so we are all be milked by club and sky to pay for it. Surplus incomes for players and directors!!!!

Anyway, my point in these threads is the gap between rich and the people just getting by. Im staggered how people stick up for the rich. Not the time to be calling people out to score points. Once again you Sven you like to get personal and be little people. You are so wise, and better than the rest of us I guess.

Enjoy and have a open mind people.Stay safe and hope we all get through it.

One last point, if any of us are entitled to any money cause season not completed then I will be sending that to nhs charity or other. I hope club gives this some real thought and a worthy cause. Money for real heroes who deserve a clap everyday.

I agree with you those over pampered millionaire players (and agents) have a rude awakening coming. TV money, advertising and gate money income is going to plummet over the forthcoming years and their trough is not going to be as full as they think it will be especially when fans remember the way the players wouldn't help out by taking modest pay cuts or deferrals.

There won't be any ST refunds because it has already been paid to people who believe they are more important than the NHS.

mate, every time you buy a loaf of bread or a tin of peas your making someone somewhere a rich man.. as does listening to your fav tunes on the radio..going to the cinema.. a concert.. you have an opp and someone somewhere is getting rich making scalpels or gloves..even a loved ones funeral it might turn out to be the coffin is made by a company owned by a billionaire..so what do you do ? stop eating/living/even dying just in case it benefits someone you think unworthy or just get a grip.. most people I know want to get back to normality..a pint with mates..a game..a night out with mrs whatever...
