Flying in fruit pickers today from Romania ,
Why not sort out the work shy, or the scroat's who don't want to obey the rules to stay indoors, send them to the fields, and with all the people been ferloughed i am sure some would relish been out in the fields rather than couped up in a flat.

The vast majority of people in the UK appear to be absolutely terrified of going outside their doors at the moment.
I'm not sure it's because they're workshy but more because they are shit scared of catching the virus.
It's going to take quite some persuading for people to get back to anything approaching a "normal" existence.

Average monthly take home pay in Romania is about £500. Think that’s why coming here is attractive..

80% of workers with me are eastern European

the work shy in my town should go picking litter along the river and if they refuse stop there payments and tell them to ask there parents or friends for money , things are going to change drastically soon so perhaps people will take up the jobs available soon , i have lads in my town who left school with me 1975 are have never worked how the f.ck they have got away with it all these years , the one guy has a flat overlooking the river and is seen quite often sitting out on the balcony soaking up the sun with a nice drink and the rest of us idiots put up with it.

They love the outdoors - Don't respect or Listen ( there that word again !!! ) to Gov information .
What more could they ask for outdoors - forget about the fines - GO And pick some fruit and veg !!

Yeah I know mate.. my cousin and her bloke have raised a family of three... lazy forkers have never done a days work in their lives, just sponged. Until the welfare system is re-organised to deal with lazies, it’ll go on.
Mind you, alot of these people are of little use to anybody.

I think its about starting as you mean to go on...there should be a school ..to....work compulsory scheme for a year with those going on to higher education having to do this 1 year before resuming school...earning money im sure would put an end to or at least reduce pple having a degree in picking their nose or shoelace tying... not going to happen though..

What’s wrong with sending in the people doing community service?,better still the hundreds being released earlier from prison?

you cant both transport them there and at the same time maintain social distancing, which begs the question how do these eastern Europeans get to the farms....

Good Points .

Why is this Romanians, Benefit cheats or criminals?
There is supposed to be a minimum wage which thousands of currently furloghed bar staff work for. Let alone the millions of students, university or A Level, currently not studying. Many of whom do bar work? Casual hospitality staff? No gigs this summer. What are they doing?

Good point, but like you said they need to transport the Romanians, but on one particular farm I saw, they had caravans on site to live in,but clearly it’s going to be more than two in each caravan

Agree strongly with all you've stated Except don't be fooled by the media yesterday saying that the first flight of Romanians were being flown in to help work the farms.
I know for a fact that many, many eastern Europeans have been recruited by gang masters to work on the many Fruit, nurseries and arable Farms in Lincolnshire, Norfolk, etc, etc and there are a regular 6 flights a day with their favorite/cheap airline, Wizz air, into and out of Luton Airport since the Flight restrictions started Many Many ARE here already.
As you say when there are plenty idle now, students, furloughed staff, etc but yes get the work shy out there for some hard work and fresh air - not many will do it voluntarily though as life is Tooooo Goood for them and their offspring being looked after "very well thank you" by the British Tax Payer.

Yes, and it’ll take a strong Govt to fix it, but will never happen. It’s easier for them to fleece mugs like me..that’s why I hate the Labour Party so much - they’re fancy free with other people’s money to give to morons pulling the wool.
Always thought I should have set up a direct debit with my Cousin.. save the Govt the hassle.

Another 6 flights coming packed with foreign workers
and then bussed to there accommodation.

This is the reality about the farming industry regarding this issue:

Interesting how it's gone quiet on the multiple boats coming over full of migrants and the many camps they were occupying have disappeared but we are bringing in "ROMAINIANS" to man these farms.
Killing two birds with one stone springs to mind. Will we have the same stories about them going home afterwards?

Hang on a second, my mate lost his job the week before last.
These jobs have not been offered to him, I don't know what the reason for that is as he would 100% do it over the universal credit so let's hold our horses with some of the comments.

fair point mate... its not like they've been screaming out for farm helpers.. and yes thinking about it there must be thousands up for a bit of country air and space even if it is along with putting a shift in...

It is correct many British people registered for the farming work, and then rejected the actual position when offered.
You have to ask why? I would suggest looking into the agencies who employ people for these roles. They prefer to hire cheap labour, which of course people coming from Eastern Europe are.
Considering the housing crisis in this country, it will be interesting to see where these thousands of people are put up too.Because young people in the UK are completely squeezed out of this market and are unable to find affordable housing.
