Over 2 million cases worldwide

Wed Apr 15, 2020 6:43 am

2,000,243 cases now and 126,758 deaths worldwide, with a death rate of 6.34%. This will only start to come down significantly if there's mass testing to identify those who've already had the virus and recovered. There could be plenty of people with minor symptoms who haven't realised that they've had the virus and therefore weren't tested. Plus due to the lack of testing equipment many countries haven't tested enough. Testing of these aforementioned people could prove crucial in understanding the virus, which is likely to return in future winters. It would also help with the planning of re-opening up after lock-downs and help to understand the possibilities of 'herd immunity.'
