Having other health problems at this time

Mon Apr 13, 2020 2:53 pm

I haven’t made many posts over the last 6-12 months (as many as I used to) mainly because of ill health and the toll it’s take on me. When I say I’ll health most of my symptoms are invisible and it’s almost like an invisible illness. Dizzy, blurry vision, unable to tolerate exercise, Unable to stand heat, extreme fatigue, I get out of bed at 10.30am approx and in bed by 18pm approx, tremors and shaking, allergic reactions to many things including important drugs And the fear of developing anaphylaxis (the latest being my inhalers as my asthma has worsened with the pollen etc). I am about half way through my investigations or hoping to gain a diagnosis for whatever is going on but obviously it’s all on hold now due to the virus. We have a few ideas about what is going on but it’s complicated and may be a couple of conditions that are completely debilitating. I’ve gone from being as fit as a fiddle to in effect quite disabled - I can’t walk around a shop and struggle to even get to the doctors surgery. This all happened in just one day - one day I was fine and then next bang this hit me. Admitted to hospital for a few days but so far all my test results are relatively normal. So anyway that’s enough about me but I just wanted to give you some background as to what my post is about. I’m 38.

I am aware there are others out there are the same or a lot worse than with health problems whether it’s a chronic long term illness or something that has been acute (sudden). Perhaps you are awaiting vital treatment or investigations that have been postponed and are currently facing a very worrying anxious time. The thought of going into hospital is bad enough at the moment for anyone whether it’s with coronavirus or other problems but with a chronic illness it may feel like an absolute knightmare. Perhaps it’s a relative that you are very concerned about. For those of you who are in a similar boat remember there are others going through scary times with their health too and you are not alone. Despite this feeling a very lonely time especially for people that live on there own like myself. What I’ve found helpful is to try and focus on doing something once a day even if it’s just reading a book to try and take my mind away from me being ill all the time. It all depends on the illness but I know what’s helped is trying not to focus on the ifs and buts and instead what actually is happening now and today. If I need treatment then I need treatment and if I react well what can I do - It’s out of my control. There are many Facebook and other social media support groups for various illnesses and conditions and I’ve found that helpful too. If you’re not on any of those places already it’s worth joining even if you don't post anything or failing which you can always post in this particular post to share experiences if you wish or just to vent.

I hope everyone is as well as possible And hardly anyone replies because that way I’ll know most people are well

Well put mate.

Im battling Kidney Cancer at this Time and all Clinics treating my Condition have had to close due to this horrible disease spreading like a wildfire through our Communities.

Im in constant contact with my Surgeon who Phones me with regular Updates, to what is going on within the Hospital.

So through these difficult times it is reassuringly comforting that people have not forgotton People with other Conditions.

Stay safe everyone..Football will return soon

nice to hear your surgeon is taking such an interest mate....been my fear since day one that everyones attention on one thing would leave many just as deserving in a void.. thankfully the news and media are beginning to cover more and more cases like yours... will add I don't understand why some hospitals are not designated for corvid and others not...

Well some good news amongst all the Doom and glloom of the last 6 months. Got a call from my Surgeon at the Heath today: He told me that they got all my Cancer cells out of my Kidney and everything is clear. I will need CT surveillance for the next 5 years! I'm very happy today. Cheers lads hope you are all keeping safe and well during these strange times. Be nice to get back down the CCS and see the goals flying in once more.
